It is a totally new game this season. VQ is bewildered and knows virtually nothing. Even a former surefire Wiltfong, is a little above worthless.

I think Auburn has been pushing for him for a while considering he’s the #1 player in Alabama. But there’s a reason why Niebuhr, Simmons, AP and Callahan all think UT is the pick 5 days before he announces. Freeze would be a fool to let the state’s top recruit leave without a fight

AP virtually confirmed there is a team that isn’t one of his finalists that he’s hearing is actually a major factor to watch out for. They were always the team that could mess this up for us and if he’s saying that it makes me way less confident.

Personally i think AP is being cautious about his takes with how wishy washy the recruits in this cycle have been. Not to say that Auburn isn’t a factor, but once bitten twice shy

It’s weird that he won’t say which school that is imo. I have little to no doubt that, assuming AP is correct, it’s Auburn, but why be so cryptic about that? All he’s gotta say is “Auburn is still in contact with Rose and won’t lay down until Ross signs.” Idk…I get not blatantly coming out and saying what school the kid is committing to. Just seems like an odd thing to be so cryptic about.

Obviously things can change but Auburn’s 247 site posted a 5 star intel thread around midnight last night and Ross wasn’t even mentioned. There’s no thread about his announcement either.

They think Franklin is a lock and they feel like they can flip Fountain but it’s crickets on Ross.

Leading before the commitment date is set basically means you are the qualifying offer. It seems like we aren't willing to get in bidding wars. I would rather us be competitive in NIL but still try to prioritize recruits that are more worried about relationships and fitting in with the culture. The extra money these recruits are fighting for shouldn't be the determining factor, because it's pennies compared to what they should be making in 4 years

Hope we land this young man but with how it's gone this year I wouldn't be surprised if he picked Auburn or Arizona. I really don't think the relationship with the coaches matter as much with the top recruits but the relationship of the player's family with money does. Oh well ...
