Interesting. Another hire that I can't explain. I think Golden might know his stuff, but I'm not sure if he's ready for this.

Temple coach. Not a bad hire, but not a homerun either. Edsall would have been a better choice. And at least it is not the Canadian Football coach.

Miamicane - what say you? You ready to be a VOL fan?

Al Golden is highly regarded. Made Temple, yes TEMPLE, alma mater of Bill Cosby, a competitive program. Has long been speculated as the heir apparent to Joe Paterno at Penn St. Temple won 8 games this season, yet weren't awarded a bowl slot.

He has a good, young, defensive mind.

Of course many said the same about Randy Shannon.

If they lose, he'll at least look classy doing it.

He did good by beating up on the Eastern Michigan's and Akron's of the world. But struggled against MAC teams with a winning record, even though Temple has had more talent than most in the MAC. Interesting.

If he is a good defensive mind, then Miami better hope he can find an OC that can utilize Miami's talent...

Interesting hires for 2 Florida schools this week. Be curious to see who works out for the best.

The Owls went 8-4 this season, beating a Connecticut team that is headed for a BCS bowl by two touchdowns. They were not invited to a bowl game.
