'19 AL QB Taulia Tagovailoa

So would Paul Tyson.

Sure? Now we’re in a different conversation. You want a kid who runs from Paul Tyson? I’d rather have the one that wants to set up his own legacy at UT.

Haha I don't disagree agree but the fact that both will be there is at least a factor. I definitely think he is interested in us though regardless of who goes to bama.

Seems the confident type. That’s not necessarily a tick against us.

I get going to a school where you have family on the team but one year apart and playing a position where only one can play doesn’t make sense. It’s not like they are both DB’s or WR’s and can play at the same time.

Same thoughts. QB is a different dynamic.

I think it's stupid for any 2 top QBs to go to same school in same class. The percentages are against you in your own class not too mention every class before and after you. 2 QB classes make more sense with an elite/too QB matched with an underrated guy. Never makes sense to me to see a 2 QB class with 2 highly rated

“Letting Howell go”???? Lol. Don’t believe we had much of a say here. Could it possibly be that Sam just preferred to play ball in Tallahassee?

Yes that is possible. But it was reported by multiple reporters that Tennessee didnt seem to interested in howell and didnt really push for him. In that aspect we just let him go. Maybe he did just want to go to fsu but who knows. The reporters may have all been wrong?

Which one is “stupid” tho? They’re both highly regarded...which concedes the other is the superior? If they BOTH feel the answer is themselves, how can you fault them?

I think based on the reports and Howell's positive comments on us, it feels like it's more plausible that we let him go in this instance.

Might have more to do with the fact that going to Bama ensures great coaching, playing for championships and a much higher possibility of getting the attention of NFL scouts.

Knowing Bama, if the race is even close for the spot, they will go with Bear's legacy. Tua would not have to just beat him out but he would have to beat him out by a mile and Tyson would just have to suck. I think he might go there if the competition wasn't from the tree of Bear the Liar.

I bet Bama would go with whoever they feel is better. That’s why they win championships.

Didn't say if Tyson sucked. If it's close, they will go with Tyson period. If they are both good and it is close, they can win a championship with either one. If that is the case, they will go with Tyson.

Do you ever watch pro ball? Listen to their introductions. There are guys starting on every team from colleges I’ve never even heard of. If you’re a great player you will make it to the league.
It’s not like UT doesn’t play on National TV every week and plays in the SEC. if you’re good you will get plenty of exposure. We sent more guys to the league than most of the SEC in Dobbs class.

Its called competing. The top guys thrive on it.

Saban has enough clout there to play whoever he wants at QB regardless of his lineage. If thats not Bryant's grandson he wont care. That doesn't mean the idiot side of their fanbase may not go stupid and moan about it.
Now Tua may not want to be looked at as the guy that kept Bryant's grandkid from starting and winning a NC if he doesn't do it. Especially given his brother has already won 1 and will have a good shot at 2 before he leaves.

Its an interesting situation.

SABAN is bound by “Bear’s legacy”? If anything, he goes the opposite...all things being equal.

You mean Taulia. Thinking about it, maybe we should rescind the offer. Name’s ain’t our thing. :pinch:

Just had an interesting thought. Do you think Saban has surpassed Bear as Bama's greatest coach? Do bama fans think he has? IMO Saban is a better coach than Bear. Granted I wasn't around for Bear, but the things Saban has done there in less than a decade are absurd. I really wish he would've gotten Brees at the Dolphins, had some success and stayed there instead of going to bama. Or Rich Rod had accepted the job in 2007 instead of staying at WVU which led to them offering Saban. Dang. :loco:

yeah I would say Saban will roll whoever he feels gives him the best shot. he clearly doesn't mind pulling a starter. he will not give anyone a job, and won't side with one if its close.
