Puh-leez. Almost nobody in the RF believed that. Almost everybody thought his board was looking something like Frost/Mullen/Campbell/Brohm. Saying you were the only one who didn't buy the grumorz is a lazy, non-factual narrative.

There was nothing in your posts that made me think you were freaking out about recruiting. And I've been in your shoes, once hinted Fuente was better than Butch but that was before everyone hated Jones.

Beyond any rational thought why you played the Currie/Jones card though. Not only was Ziti the one that coined "Bahama John" several of us didn't like the Currie hire to begin with.

But I will say that I 100% believe that we were extremely lucky with the timing. You change even one thing, chances are we never received the warning call and schiano's paperwork is signed before anyone knows anything. I for one, am very glad that you didn't get your demands for a faster timeline.

False. Lots of guys around here didn't buy into all the grumors.

Some people here (myself included) even had Schiano on a shortlist of guys we thought Currie would/should consider (he was somewhere around the 5th or 6th guy on mine). The PSU thing wasn't exactly common knowledge until Currie actually tried to hire the guy.

No. People have a habit of accusing me of panicking because if I post anything seen as critical or negative, anything at all, even if I’m right as I was during the Currie/Butch debacle, people on this board lose their minds coming to the defense. Even when it was defending Currie and Butch. Currie was this great sneaky genius who was going to land Gruden and I was panicking, remember? I member.

It’s never a waste of time to stay on elite kids , things change sometimes over night , sometimes longer if you keep that relationship it might just work out in the end ... think A.K. , that worked out well for us .

Especially since there don't seem to be any other QBs the staff seems that high on anyway.

I have to admit though, I would feel a bit better if we were going after some 2020 kids a bit harder.


Hopefully JG performs at a high enough level that QB won't be a huge need for this class. If he struggles or leaves this year, we're probably gonna be in the grad transfer market again next winter/spring.
