From the little I saw in our game against them, Steele may be better than any of our guys at getting 3-4 yards when the line blocks zero. Putting up over 1300 yards is nothing to sneeze at. Yes, it’s against a MAC schedule, but that’s running behind a MAC line as well. If we missed out on higher targets, I think he could be a good add.Solid back but not elite. We’re deep with solid backs already and I would be surprised if they added anyone to that group who’s not elite. JMO
At this point, it's maybe just as likely he goes pro rather than transfer, but if AU screws around and messes this hire up, doesn't retain Cadillac (in which case, Tennessee should jump on him like white on rice), then I could see Tank deciding he doesn't want to risk his last year at a place with no stability or certainty.Dude ain’t leaving AUB
Jamir Gibbs is elite. There’s only a hand full of elite rb’s in college. Steele in a good rb, a great rb for Ball State. Clearly this is just my opinion and I’m not Littlevol or one of the other self proclaimed talent scouts on VN. it’s fine if your opinion is that Steele is clearly better than the guys already at UT.
Was just randomly looking thru the nations top running backs, andddddddd I want Carson Steele (Soph.) from Ball State. 6'1, 215. 1376 rushing yards this year with 12 TDs and a 5.2 ypc
just a under the radar type guy, that would be a nice pickup imo
Not saying he is transferring, but it's fun to imagine

We need guys that can run past defenders, for potentially huge gains...not people that just stupidly run right into defenders...sort of playing into their whole purpose when you do that...We completely shut him down this season

ESPECIALLY in this scheme. We get spread out and find you space so you can run upfield and past guys, not seek them out trying to plow for an extra 1-2 yards, when the open field gave you 10+ more.
He's playing because both Treyveon Henderson and Miyan Williams are hurt. Williams was hurt mid-game Saturday against Indiana. Hayden played well, Saturday in relief of Williams, rushing 19 times for 102 yds and a TD. He had a similar effort earlier this year vs Toledo (17/108/1).Yeah. He scored TD last Saturday for Ohio State. I think he played the most snaps.
We completely shut him down this season
