‘23 AL RB Khalifa Keith (Tennessee)

We need guys that can run past defenders, for potentially huge gains...not people that just stupidly run right into defenders...sort of playing into their whole purpose when you do that...

ESPECIALLY in this scheme. We get spread out and find you space so you can run upfield and past guys, not seek them out trying to plow for an extra 1-2 yards, when the open field gave you 10+ more.
Yeah, after watching some of Steele’s highlights, he has very good to elite strength, but balance and vision leave something to be desired.

Sorry but I'm not joining your Khalifa bandwagon. I believe there is much better out there.

"My bandwagon"?
This is Heupel! When Austin Price said the staff liked Keith better than Stallings...that wasn't me saying that. I just agreed with it.

If it was up to you wed have Desean Bishop as our primary back with Powell's starting WRs as our top 2 WR commits.

Terrible answer. You know their oline is terrible and you know our run defense is one of top in the nation.

I bet this kid would be labeled as "elite" if he was running behind Bama's or our oline. I'd be willing to bet he would've had similar numbers to Gibbs in the Bama game. What did he have? 100 yards, 3 TDs?

Not fair to say, "we stopped him" uhhh yeah congrats on whooping Ball State's oline to tackle him, really hard task!

Look, I'm not going to get into a back and fourth over a prospect we aren't even gonna reach out to. It was a hypothetical.
You just praised him for the numbers he put up .
Now you're saying the OL that helped him put up those numbers are trash??

Make up your mind.

This wasn't a class that offered a bevy of "big running backs". Especially one's that were considered elite by the services. The best one that the staff initially targeted committed to UCLA, then flipped to UGA. Were there higher rated RBs than Keith?.... yes. Did they fit what the staff was specifically looking for? Not particularly. The class of '24 appears to be much deeper at that position. We also had an ace up our sleeve with Cameron Seldon being able to play RB or WR. He's arguably the most gifted offensive athlete in this class with his combination of size, speed, and strength.

Seldon I think is our best bet a RB.

Well maybe Khalifa and Spillman can hang out with Adarius Redmond at the All American Bowl, they got invited right?

Spillman got a scholarship because of his brother. No argument there.

Redmond isn't even close in talent to our other WR commits in Leacock and Seldon.

It's the University of Tennessee. NOT The University of North Knoxville.

Not looking forward to our LBs having to tackle Roderick and Branson Robinson....

Roderick just went over 2,000 yards tonight for Lincoln High.

Hurt your feelings ? Must have.

Seldon is.very talented, I don't think Leacock is as good as Redmond nor even close

It's not the University of North Alabama either.

You have lost your ever loving mind if you think Redmond is better than Leacock. That's not even close. Have you checked out any of Leacock's senior highlights?

Apparently our coaches don't share your opinion.

Sampson currently averaging 10 yds a carry. Kid is going to be special. I hope he gets a lot of carries today.
In very limited action. Not saying he's not special or going to be just that, but given his body of work thus far, it's hard for me to make that sort of declaration. I'd like to see him get a fair amount of work when an SEC game is still in doubt. Will that be at night at USC? Not holding my breath on that. I'm not certain the staff is totally comfortable with that just yet. Shades of Hooker being decimated still roll thru my mind when I see him on the field. Having said that, they seem to be okay with Wright and his fumbling so maybe they'll get him in a bit earlier today? Hope he's that "difference maker" we've been missing at RB of late.

You obviously did not watch the Mizzou game. He was getting meaningful carries when Tennessee was only up 28-24. His longest run came when Tennessee was only up 35-24.

His vision and burst stand out.
I agree Sampson makes me wonder if the other backs don’t have as good of vision. Because he is finding seams and holes then just hitting them, plus he is so good getting the edge on outside runs. I like all our backs but watching him last week was exciting even if MO was beat up pretty good when he came in. I was at the game and everyone around us was hoping he’d get a TD and super excited. I hope to see lots of Sampson this today too.
