He wants associate HC, but he isn't even a coordinator at his current (former?) School. I mean he may be great, but he may be demanding a lot up front.

I'd love to see Kevin Simon on the coaching staff my dream scenario going off of the staff you just listed would be Washington Co-DC or sole DC and DT, Garner DE, Simon OLB, Steele Co-DC or just ILB, Martinez S, CB? That would give us 6 defensive coaches give one of them Special teams as well possibly then we would have 4 coaches on offense (5 really with Heupel)
I just hope that if Simon wants to coach on the field that would help get Henry back in the fold?

He coached with Martinez at Cincinnati. So Martinez will be coming as Safeties coach, also hearing Steele is staying on as Co-Defensive Cord and ILB coach, Rodney Garner as Defensive Line Coach and looking to fill out his cornerback coach position.

They added that 10th assistant. Lots of schools were going with full time ST coach or 2 DB coaches.

Hiring a coach without DC experience is a HUGE mistake. I'd go down a division before I hire a position coach.

The Pruitt & Ansley tandem didn’t exactly light the world up.

How do you build a resume without experience ?!



At a smaller school, on a smaller stage as a coordinator, and then working your way up thru the ranks as a coordinator.
Makes sense to me, much more so than a at a major university in the most competitive conference in the country for a team with obvious difficulties looming.
If he is the hire I'll support it, but I don't think we need a learn on the job never called a play in his life type position coach for DC at this time.
Maybe that's just me.
