He’s being asked to leave his Ferrari for a Saturn S series. He has all the leverage in the world. I’d definitely negotiate a sweet @ss deal if I were in his shoes. He wants associate HC, but he isn't even a coordinator at his current (former?) School. I mean he may be great, but he may be demanding a lot up front.
I said Pruitt not hiring experienced coordinators out of the gate would set him back. His first year he didn’t even hire an official DC. Ansley was DC in name only and had never been more than a position coach. Then he ran off the experienced teachers on defense. The Pruitt & Ansley tandem didn’t exactly light the world up.
He has a great resume for someone that’s never been a DC. We’ve tried big time DCs from other schools and we’ve tried first timers. No one is a guarantee. Shoop was a great DC but the time he was here he did poorly. If this guy is energetic and recruits well then why not?I know it's easy to recruit to places like Bama and OSU, but he was supposedly the top recruiter in the country this last cycle.
Well ALM guy. Most college football players are black, most coaches are not. To me Washington is well qualified to be our next DC. It's an opportunity for UT to show equal opportunity isn't just a slogan.

When we cleaned house in 88, Doug Mathews went from RB coach to DC in mid season. He did well because he simplified things and got his athletes in position to make plays. Doug had coached DBs at some point but was never a coordinator. He has a great resume for someone that’s never been a DC. We’ve tried big time DCs from other schools and we’ve tried first timers.
