Getting there myself.
The optimal fan role is to be relentlessly supportive. Guess who needs fans, or a hand up when things are going perfect ? Effing no one lol. That is easy. You need them when everything else sucks.
The administration gets paid a lot of money to determine firings and hirings. Fans have zero input. Yet some act like they're the ones personally shelling out millions or that their livelihoods depend on these games. Losers. You bought a ticket and a t-shirt. You don't even have sweat equity. I've noticed that those most vocal about getting rid of coaches seem to be lacking a lot in their own lives, and football is their outlet. When that doesn't go how they want, they lash out like petulant children. If we lose for another 5 years and more of our rednecks head over to the bama wagon I'd consider it losses well spent.
A Tennessee win or loss has never personally affected my life. I just cheer for the boys in orange regardless, and sometimes it works out. I'm not happy with our W-L but being a toxic cry baby will only compound the issues facing our resurgence. A supportive fanbase should be the last thing UT has to worry about.
