Alabama fan fired after tweeting he was 'glad' receiver struck female Tennessee fan

Problem is, it’s not quite “the ether” when you literally doxx yourself. It’s standing at the end of your driveway with something stupid written on a poster. I agree that anybody that contacted his employer needs to get a life, but there’s a lot of dumb at work here.
Not using a throwaway was his undoing. That's way dumber than the comment

I appreciate that, but it seemed like you were suggesting that a good leader should have taken a different path than termination. I was just suggesting that this isn't as easy or simple as it might seem from the outside. People often see this as caving to the mob, when really you are trying to walk a line.

If I misunderstood then my apologies.

We are good my man. Like I said I bet we have more things in common than we have differences but even in those differences and we could have a beer without any issues.
My first reaction was just like everyone else who would say something like this? My second thought is if this guy got fired was it solely based on the post and if so I hoped the company didn't fire an employee who was in good standing after 6 years of employment for that alone. I think a company can do whatever they want. I also firmly believe that people should not be defined by their lowest moments. It's in those moments where you find out what kind of person you are and want to be.

She's a woman. He said it. Therefore it's condoning and even calling for violence against women.
Oh ffs this has gone full plaid

Had it been a guy the same comment while likely be made right? Then it's not a gender issue in need of a white knight

Involved everyone? He made a dumb comment into the ether. The crusade to ruin his life by people who have no connection to the man is absurd. They acted worse than he did imo

"people who have no connection to the man is absurd" - You don't realize that you are making this all about him. No discussion of the impact of his words on the other people involved. It could have been her family that complained. Would that change things? Or maybe the daughter of the CEO of the company was a victim of assault.

We don't know anything, but somehow this guy is a victim. Explain that to me.

The stupidity of the response greatly outweighed the idiocy of the comment. There's no need for the crusade over something not even that terrible. Just scroll by

Good Lord… don’t give an idiot that much credit. All he knows is red team good; orange team bad and it clouds everything he thinks.

Ain't that the truth. I'm not going to drag the guy further down because we all say stupid stuff in the heat of the moment. I hope he has a chance to bounce back from this.

My issue with this entire thing is a person was fired from his job because of a comment he made about the action that occurred on the field. Most people understand the ramifications of making stupid comments on social media.

However, the punk that actually struck a female has not been disciplined at all, because he can run fast and catch a football.

Let's be honest here, the dude that got fired suggested a worse hit on the girl (there's a better way to word that but you know what I mean), not just a comment. For all anybody knows he already had issues and that was the that. I would really hate to think any man here, or anybody I know in real life, would say "you shoulda knocked her head off." That is a garbage person right there.

People tell you who they are by the things they do and say.

100% agree. My issue is nothing at all happened to the jackwagon that did actually hit a female.
I have zero sympathy for anyone that would make public comments made by the second jackwagon that got fired.
