I agree that they both should have won, but OSU won their conference and they have a better resume. They have more of an argument than Alabama does.

What about houston, arkansas state or louisiana tech. didn't they win their conference?

There will be more of an uproar (outside of Bama) if OSU isn't chosen, and rightfully so, IMO. If OSU played LSU, they would be given the chance to validate themselves.

If Bama plays LSU and loses, that tells us something we already knew, and Oklahoma State and Big 12 fans could complain their conference was completely ignored. If Oklahoma State makes it and loses, Bama has nothing to complain about.

LSU won the SEC, and they beat the Big East and Pac 10 champion. I'd much rather see them beat another conference champion than a team they already beat.

so it doesn't matter if a team loses to lsu or florida atlantic?

Depends on the circumstances. OSU shouldn't have lost to ISU. However, if you will recall, OSU was dealing with a bit of emtional trauma the day of that game. Is that an excuse? No, but I imagine that an event like the one they had to deal with is pretty tough stuff.

Yes, a terrible tragedy occurred. If they weren't ready to play they shouldve postponed it.

How do you figure? They have a tougher SOS with more wins over Top 25 teams.

Other than beating Arky what are the big wins for Bama? Penn St.? Miss St.? Fla? Auburn? UT? Ole Miss? Vandy? Kent St.? Ga. Southern? North Texas?

Don't really care for this argument though. Going to penalize a team in a major conference because their usual list of opponents and a traditionally rich PSU didn't hold up their end of the bargain? OSU lost to a terrible program, don't do that and you have a red carpet to the title game.

I was responding to the claim that somehow Bama had a tougher regular season grind - OSU actually played a tougher schedule so they actually had the tougher schedule.

So you do no care about sos? Say Boise state went undefeated, would you have put them in the title game?

My mistake, I thought that was a regular season game.
My point remains that conference champions dont mean anything with the national championship

When comparing the resumes of Alabama and Okie State, it looks better that OSU actually won their conference.

Minus the glaring red flag of iowa state. If they lost to a decent team then id excuse it. But iowa state are the bottom feeders of the big 12

Also looks better that they beat more ranked teams, as well as more teams with an actual winning record.

The voters are going to give it to Bama and that is a shame. The system could work if they would let it.

In 2006, which loss looked worse going into the bowl season? Michigan losing at Ohio State or Florida losing at Auburn?

Of course I do but a person needs to build some level headedness into it. As I said, you don't have control of how good your opponents are going to be.
