This pretty much spells the end of their UT careers--don't see how this can be whitewashed. Additionally, don't be surprised if Federal felony charges are filed against Tyler for the altered serial numbers. Unlike the KPD, the Feds don't play. Idiots.

If the theft of an election can be whitewashed, then a gun in a car can. Don't be naïve.

Which mean all 4 should be shown the door, regardless of who they are and how bad we will be this season without them..

Sorry, I'm all for second chances.. But this is unexcuseable.. The alcohol, drugs and firearms are just to much to look the other way..

They knew they were when they picked up the car in Nashville, according to the police report. They all denied ownership of the guns. I have a feeling they will drop the gun charges, unless they could prove ownership.

They may drop the charges but it looks really bad if they knew about them.

None are felons and if the serial number was not altered there would be nothing wrong with riding around with guns. Guns are not bad...I do not understand why so many people keep acting like having guns in a car is a horrible thing.

They aren't if you follow the law, which it doesn't sound like any of them did here.

It's very acceptable to have a gun in your car... IF you have a permit to carry it.... For you to say it's "ok" for these "kids", which is really what they are, to have guns on them?... Well, I consider that an irresponsible statement.... Just my opinion.. And, yes I agree that guns are not bad... People are... Which should make you wonder just why they have them in the first place.................... Not to mention drugs............ And alcohol......

The serial number was altered, what are people not getting about this? All four should be shown the door IMO.

With regard to UF, I have said before that I would endorse a zero-tolerance policy on firearms. I criticized Meyer for allowing Wilson back, even if only on the scout team.

Two 9 mms and at least one with an altered serial number? Its hard to do the right thing here given the cost to the team, but IMO if Pearl kicks them all off of the team or at least the owner of the guns and suspends the others for the rest of the year, he will have a lot of credibility with UT fans and recruits for years to come.

Hat, I know Bruce has been somewhat mum on what he plans to do with these 4, but how do you think he's handled the situtation so far? Also, how do you think it plays out in the end?

If they modified the serial number in the car and all knew about that they should all be off the team IMO. If they had no idea that one of the guns had a modified serial number, have never shot the guns and they were not their guns, that is a totally different thing IMO.

They are not kids. We should quit artificially extending childhood but these guys were not just 18+ they were 21+.

I wish TN was an open carry state like many and not a state that required registration to have a gun in your car. Maybe I should adopt some of the players and take them to the range so they can get the bug and come up with the 200 bucks and 1 saturday it takes to be registered.

Let's face it. Kansas is by far the best team in the country. They were going to beat us either way. At least now there is an excuse to be blown out by 40 at home.

I think he's done all he can do to this point. There's nothing he's done so far, outside of the silly "apology" to Pat Summitt, that I would take issue with. The more I see of Hamilton getting in front of the cameras, the more I begin to believe this will be his decision. If federal charges are lodged, which they shouldn't be, the end game is easy to see. If not, it's tough to say. I can only really say what I would do, because I'm not privy to the internal discussions.

No, there is nothing wrong with owning guns. We have a safe full of hunting firearms at home. For some reason, I doubt these guys were using them for hunting, self protection, or target practice. They had something else in mind.
