All things STOCKS

That would win it for Trump if he holds on to PA, NC, and GA, no?

I think he likely loses PA so it wont matter. He may lose barely GA too (I think Trump barely pulls out GA by less than .25%)

Still think he'll lose AZ but it might be within a point.

How are we thinking a Biden presidency will impact the stock market?

I think the Rs keeping the Senate is more important. Biden will benefit from COVID winding down and the economy chomping at the bit to take off. He also has a little bit of anti-China in him. He’ll be watched like a hawk to see if he’s been bought by the CCP. Joe’s tax policy could end up wrecking the economy for the administration that follows. Need to keep those Chinese tariffs on and incentivizing domestic manufacturing.

I did not like seeing the heavy construction names getting obliterated today (except as as I posted earlier I won’t mind picking up more MLM).

Having COVID triggers those things. If you have a bad heart and catch the Corona Virus, you will die. If you catch the Corona Virus and are at risk, you will also die with pneumonia.

For real. If someone has heart disease and contract COVID, there is a decent chance they will die (though still relatively low). Heart disease may be the main reason why they die, but COVID was the trigger. It's likely that person would still be alive had they not contracted COVID.

Got in DKNG yesterday at $40. Looks like the reversal has started. Hoping to ride it at least to $49.

What 3Q ER plays are you guys looking at?

I guess I wont owe you a drink after all @VolAllen Going to Columbia for work

I have to admit, I might have nailed that take. And to think, my political science teacher just thought I paid attention to the brunette girl in class..
Biden has a long way to go with all the fraud being brought to attention today. A lot of people about to go to jail.

I now have tiny (1-2%) gains in SAVE and CCL after being in the red over the last several weeks. Can’t decide if I want to jettison the positions or be hoggish for a while. Both should give me an easy 25-50% once COVID starts settling down. But if I sold them, I don’t have any compelling ideas for putting more cash to work. Paying down margin and mortgages possibly. But I will immediately refinance my real estate if I can get locked in under 3%. Bonds AND equities are at high levels. XLE, CHX, XOM perhaps? I’m still eyeing adding to my MLM (Martin Marietta) holdings. Or opening a position in Mueller (MLI) and/or United Rental (URI). I’d like to add to defense, but the Biden administration might be hostile. Even the military tech names might not be attractive with the defund the police theme still alive. But cutting police funding might not affect the surveillance and info gathering companies. In reality it is a stupid idea to “defund” police. They need to be more professional, better trained, and more transparent (body cams) which is contrary to taking a defunding stance.

I may be out of line here, but I think @TBrown deals in real estate finance. I've stumbled across some of his posts in the baseball forum, and he may have some insight on rates. I closed on a new construction earlier this year at 2.8% apr. I don't know about refi or what kind of real estate you're holding, but rates seem to keep making new lows. There has been some volatility on the 10 year lately, but I would imagine it settles back down. Maybe they already have. I haven't looked at bonds after Powell's address today.

Rates are great but the lenders aren’t necessarily processing refi applications expediently. My sister’s drug out for months. I’ve never been through a refi.

SO.....how does this election get resolved? Really glad I didn’t bet on this lol

One side will be declared the winner by the media, the DNC or RNC, and various governmental bodies. Then the other side raises heck through the legal system.

One thing that might be a good idea is to force states to follow uniform guidelines for national elections. There seem to be many different ways to administer and monitor the process.
