All things STOCKS

NVO seems like a good LT hold with their diabetes business. Everybody not paying attention is getting poisoned with high fructose corn syrup being in EVERYTHING. Dexcom (DXCM) is another, but 165x is expensive.
Aanother Ugh! I bought Dexcom 5 yrs ago around $20, and sold about 1 year later around $30. Yeah, a profit, but if I had held another 4 years it was/is at $120. Selling too soon is the mistake I make most often.

My SHOP has been a rocket ship yesterday and today. Bought back in just before the split and bought a lot more post split. Bought additional AAPL and AMZN both post splits as well and will hold all three for the next 10 years, at least, barring any unforeseen news that would prompt a disposition.

I would think NVO being sold out on Wegovy is a great entry point. if it's down, great. There's an old adage that if the left side of the graph looks like the Eiffel tower, the right side will too, but I think it'll be a while. Their product is of course not unique, ridiculously too expensive, and patented, so they have to make hay now, but they should have years of big earnings to do something with.

I actually don't have any now. Haven't decided.

NVO has a $360B market cap. No matter how great one patent might be, the law of huge numbers could be in play.

It’s amazing how many $100B market cap and bigger Big Pharma companies are out there.

Bought back my TSLA 5/12 $160 puts this morning. I could have squeezed out a few more dollars if I was paying attention, but if I was I might have bought it back higher as the contract price was falling.

Bailed out of a few Arconic (ARNC) shares yesterday. I doubt that Apollo gets into a bidding war with anybody.

BMI 38. Does that mean these folks will likely be on Wegovy or similar until they lose weight and for years after to keep the weight off?

Yes!! The idea is to get the BMI under 30. Then at whatever weight you want to maintain, you back off the Wegovy or Ozempic. Keep weighing yourself…if u regain a few pounds, crank back up the dose. Repeat, wash, rinse.

I plan to stay on Ozempic for remainder of my life. Next year, they will have it in a pill version. I will just take it with all my other pills.

The long term health benefits of people with BMI between 20-30 are staggering. Within a decade, it reduces overall health cost in USA immensely.

Very true. But, look around you….sadly, we are fat. Eli Lilly and NVO are going to rack in some serious cash over next five years. The market is staggering. And, it isn’t going anywhere any time soon. But companies are really just getting starting in the business of fighting the fat.

I don’t pay much attention to individual drugs, but don’t the fat drug users have a poor record of getting fat again as soon as they stop using it?

officially too early to tell.

As a stockholder, I sure hope so…:)

Will say, when I stop taking my satin pill, my cholesterol number goes up. Therefore, I’ve been taking the pill for 10+ years.

LOL

In 5 years or so we're going to be looking back at more of these "oops"es with regard to AI companies.

AMD is rising, if NVDA is priced out for you this might be a sweet spot. Bought last week on the Microsoft news and happy with the return so far. Long on NVDA myself

WOW!!!
Good call. Wish I had listened to you a year ago. Dam, dam, dam .....

Nice to be lucky occasionally..

Even up 20% today, I'm just going to hold it. They are really just getting started. Europe will be a huge market for them. And, Pepsi can carry it right in there.

Yes, at least for Wegovy. Novo says that people who stopped taking the drug regained about 2/3 of what they lost. So, it’s going to be a chronic med like your cholesterol lowering statin or your anti-hypertensive.

Novo says that they have long term safety data from the drug out past 10 years in Type 2 diabetic patients with no signs of long term safety issues.

I’ve been bullish on NVO for awhile now because they are the drug leaders in the diabetes field and unfortunately T2 diabetes is exploding world wide. Even though NVO is at an all time high, I think the stock will continue to go up the next 1-2 years.

Yes! They are just getting started with the obese crowd. And, there are a bunch of us!

Semaglutide is proven to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, blood vessel disease, and obviously treats type 2 diabetes.

NVO is also at the mid-way point in a study in determine if it helps prevent Alzheimer's disease. Early indications are positive.

Novo and Eli Lilly are both going to slay it between now and 2025. If you want to grab a couple and just ignore for next three years, those are two strong selections.....IMHO.

Agree. Both stocks will have minor setbacks but are good safe choices over 3 year time frame. NVO is more the pure play for diabetes/obesity while LLY is more diversified with oncology playing a big role.

It finally came to my attention that the "mid-cap growth fund," which I've had money in for years, underperforms the index, so why keep it there?

Should I cash out now? Or wait until a relatively better time?
