Alshon Jeffrey

I just think its funny how everyone in the SEC suddenly hates us more than ever cause they're afraid of a little competition. ihateorange4 is a perfect example along with Nick Saban.

So the VQ article says that he really wants to improve his game so that he can one day play in the NFL. That's good for us. It also says he rated his visit a 9.

I bet Kiffin told him something along these lines:

"You're getting Tampa's defense, and instead of waiting until you get to the NFL, you're going to get coached just like the best players in the NFL," he said. "And the offense is the same offense we ran when I was at Southern Cal, an offense that's been dynamic and has put a bunch of players in the NFL and gotten a number of players drafted higher than they would have been if they had gone somewhere else.

"We're going to put you in a position from a football standpoint that when you're done playing in three or four years that you'll be better prepared than you will if you had gone anywhere else in the country, and I'll argue that with anybody."

It was probably more than that:eek:k:
probably not. guy got pissed & called me a dumphuc. i quoted him & was banned. mod said no dumphucs allowed which was ironic because thats all thats over there. i still go there to get some laughs i just cant post. they are delusional as hell. every year its always "next year".

I think our Chances with Jeffrey are as good as our chances with Marlon Brown at this point.

1-He wants early playing time.
2-There have been reports for months that he'd never go to California, because he doesn't want to be that far from home.
3-We all know nobody's going to decommit from Southern Cal to play at South Carolina.

Based on his visit and saying things like TN's at the top and you'll see on signing day, it certainly opens the door for speculation.

If he was firm to USC, why would we need to see on signing day?

I won't be shocked to see him at the Coliseum next year, but I'll certainly be surprised. He seems like a silent to me, based on what I've gathered and the mood of the people who have followed his recruitment even more closely than I have.

I don't think he's a silent. But I like our chances. We are in this one, but I have said for awhile that I think he sticks with Southern Cal. He's announcing on signing day right?

He's a small town kid and too many reports have said he made his decision too early for me to believe he'd realistically end up in LA.

yeah...NSD.

just imagine the meltdown if someone commits this year on NSD and then signs a LOI to someone else---can you say forum Armageddon? all the Kiffin haters will be out in full force to say, "I told you he couldn't get done and he's supposed to be this hotshot recruiter."

I always wondered if a recruit has ever signed and faxed the wrong LOI (IDK how you could possibly screw this up, but hey, Sh** happens). What would happen? Would they have to go to whichever school it was? Or could they retract it and go to the school that they wanted to in the first place.

It feels like old times.I can't wait to be hated again...and it seems like where off to a good start.

Spurrier, who was joined on the visit by three assistants, convinced Jeffery to stick with his plans for an official visit this weekend. "That helped them," Jeffery said of the meeting with the Gamecock coaches. "It meant a lot," Jeffery has been committed to Southern Cal, but is not saying for sure that's his destination. "We'll see on Signing Day what's going to happen," he said

sounds like he knows where he wants to go if he needed convincing to visit usc this weekend... walking out of his private meeting with Kiffin in all smiles during his visit along with this quote lets me know that this guy is all vol

So what if we don't get him. He'll be a TE at this level. He's just not fast enough to play on the outside in the SEC. I think we'll get someone better next year. So if we don't get Jeffrey no problem.
