Mental illness is whatever you consider it to be. Homosexuality was classified as a mental illness for many, many years by the American Psychiatric Association (or whatever their organization is called) until activists took over the association in the 1970's. Some still think that it is.Is narcissism + stoking up the resentments of his supporters a mental illness? Because that's mostly what I see along those lines

I think it would leave that to the states. Initially having “life” defined differently in different states seems like an unwanted outcome but it seems like since we don’t require prenatal child support it would only really reverberate into probate law, potentially, not even sure that’s true, but that’s already different in every state.

There's been significant erosion, but Roe did have a balancing test (mother's privacy right vs. an increasing state interest in the prenatal life).
How do you propose turning the latter over to the states? They can and are taking it to the extreme end (Alabama), effectively voiding the woman's right.
Fine, but how did the whole issue justify circumventing "all those other things left to the states"? Creeping or galloping federalism overwhelming the right of states to set law that more fits the regional nature is a problem. Federalism is the pounding of larger and larger irregular shaped pegs into round holes. When the irregular shapes are what define the regional characters, you eventually wind up with a nation of very unhappy citizens. My way or the highway is not an enlightened way of running things. We have a good thing; if you don't like, Al and NY suits you better, then move. If the county gets to the point it doesn't suit you because of federalism, the recourse becomes revolution because moving from country to country is a lot more complex than moving from state to state.
This applies to the 2nd Amendment?
So if I got back and find a thread about Benghazi, for example, I won’t find you insinuating that Stevens was sent there to die?
