As someone that got sentenced to Germany for 3 years as a kid when my father was stationed there with the Army the Germans can kiss my butt. I also have had the pleasure of working with Germans over my career on numerous projects and they as arrogant now as they were when I was a kid.
Personally I wish we'd pull all of our troops out of Germany just like we did in the 60's in France when DeGaulle kicked us out.

The German economy suffered a record-breaking economic contraction in the second quarter as measures intended to stymie the coronavirus pandemic shuttered businesses and required consumers to stay home.

The economy shrank at an annualized rate of 34.7 percent in the second quarter, worse than the stunning 32.9 percent decline in the U.S.

On a nonannualized basis, which is the standard way European governments report their growth, the economy contracted 10.1 percent. That compares with the nonannualized decline of 9.5 percent in the U.S. economy.

I'm thinking that there were way more Russians killed than Germans. Maybe you like them , but I hate the bastards. They treated my uncle like crap in ww2 and nearly starved him to death. They treated me and my family like crap when I lived there as a child. They treated me and my coworkers like sh!t in the 90's and 2000's when my company bought equipment from them. Deal with the germans and tell me how they deserve anything from us?

I am for getting out. Just trying to figure out your reasoning.

I would think 40years of occupying half the country evens the playing fields a decent bit.

We don't occupy them, we're part of their economy. Americans live on little isolated islands in Germany, once you step off that island they treat you like crap. They have an entire industry reliant on supplying goods and services to Americans, if we left tomorrow it would crush part of their economy. They are arrogant mean sons o bitches and if you don't believe me ask anyone that has had to live there.
