American Idol 2014

This! I meant to mention this earlier. It seems like every song they have where there are a lot of visual effects and loud background tracks/band playing the microphone for the singer is more quiet than the music.
So during Dexter's song he did have a lot going on behind him so you could hear his song really well.

The entire show was off sync for me. From the first three minutes, when Ryan came back on the screen the audio and video was off. When they got to Ben, the color panel was on there for his entire interview and into the first few bars of his song. I had no idea what he was singing or why.

I seriously doubt if 3 of the remaining Idol contestants could get a chair turned if they were doing a blind audition on the Voice. I think any contestant chosen on the Voice thus far could easily win Idol. The difference in the talent level of the two shows is astounding. Can only blame it on the Idol judges, they have failed selecting contestants.

U can't be serious ! The voice Is trash. the show sucks. Most of the winners were already signed and didn't make it. Its not just about singing that makes u great. U need the look and the ability to promote itself. Most of the voice contestants don't have this

I didn't have that specific problem. This actually sounds like a dvr/cable box issue. I've got U-Verse and very rarely does the audio get out of synch with the video but when that happens typically it fixes itself if I change the channel and then quickly change back. The on stage audio issue I am talking about didn't just happen on this last episode it's been all of them since they started performing as the top13. They've also had sound issues when switching between the judges giving critiques and then either Ryan or the contestant responding. It's like they aren't flipping the switch on the microphones fast enough.

Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one. I personally think the talent on the Voice THIS SEASON is 10times better than Idol. You have the right to believe differently if you want, but you are wrong....:)

I only enjoyed maybe 4 of those performances from tonight.

Dexter, Majesty (was honestly really good until the last few notes), Caleb(although consistent I got bored because I didn't know the song), CJ.

I'll call the bottom 3: Malaya, MK, and Ben might actually be in trouble.

You've never heard Rush's Working Man before?

The next 3 to be eliminated will be Malaya, MK, and Jena. Only suspense will be in what order.

Most years even, talent wise, the Voice is far better. Judges are better. Concept is better. Idol just has the name at this point (though this season is better than last season).

Jena just killed it. That was ridiculously awesome! That's her wheelhouse right there. I want Ben to win (cause of Tennessee) but J.L. was right, that was the best tonight...by far.

I think Ben may be in trouble tomorrow. His song choice tonight didn't really do him any favors, IMO. And the contestants who have been near the bottom have turned in career performances.

I know he was trying to show he can be diverse, but he is awesome at being Ben. That's where he needs to stay imo.

F U Dexter. That shout out of roll tide during sweet home Alabama was the icing on a vomit cake.

If he would have sung "Man of Constant Sorrow", I think he would still be in. Feel bad for the guy.

Ben, truthfully he did a pretty good job with the song. If they had actually judged him on his singing and not on the fact that he's a country singer singing a different genre they could have done him a favor. He shouldn't really have gone home for one bad song choice.

Jessica seemed like she had potential in the beginning but she's really not living up to it, she still has that deer in the headlights look when she sings.
Majesty did a horrible job of that Frozen song, I don't know what the hell Harry was listening to because she was all over the place.
MK did better than she's done before but she's still dry.
Jena did ok but I don't know what that song was.
Malaya sure didn't earn a standing ovation but she got one anyway.
Sam is just blah to me.
CJ, Dexter, Alex, Caleb all did a great job.

Overall I'm not impressed with this year's group. Jessica is still my favorite. I still like Caleb too, although I don't know WTF he was thinking singing Lady Gaga.

I'm still trying to figure out why Caleb would ever think it would be funny to expose someone to peanuts who actually has a peanut allergy, let alone think it's a good idea to say it on live tv.

Only thing they got right was getting MK voted off.

CJ better start picking songs people have actually heard AND sing them well or he's going home.

Alex is the only singer who's consistently performed imo and is someone I look forward to hearing. The guy can actually sing and I love that most of his songs feature his voice and not lots of background tracks and flashy effects.

Caleb has officially passed Jessica as my favorite with that performance, although it's still neck and neck.

Top 3 imo:
Caleb, Alex, Dexter

Alex impresses me every week with his consistency and style. I've not heard ONE bad performance from him seriously.

Sam should have gone home, the kid just can't sing and they shouldn't have used a save.
Jessica had potential but I've seen enough.
Jena, that was the most awful arrangement of Adele I've ever heard.
I really liked CJ for a long time but between the two Alabama boys he's fallen behind Dexter.
Malaya did better this week, but that's about all I can say.

Overall the show has gotten better but this is honestly probably the worst group of contestants I've seen to date.

I agree they shouldn't have used the save. No chance that kid wins, so you're only delaying the inevitable.
