But that's false. We don't have the best healthcare in the world ... unless you qualify it by saying "for those who can afford it."
It'd be like saying Saudi Arabia has the best housing in the world because the homes of the royal family are more grand and outlandish than any other homes in the world. Great for the royal family, but that says nothing about the housing for the people of Saudi Arabia at large.
The government is not now nor ever has been set up to run a business model program . All business model programs have to operate with a budget and pay the price of going under if they don’t . The government runs bad programs off of bad models continuously because they have no repercussions. The other thing we all know is once health care for all goes into effect the government will be done with it as far as making it efficient.
Trust me, the for profit industry makes sure you aren’t getting the best care you can. They understaff nurses to dangerous levels, spread way too thin. They push you out of the hospital, sometimes too soon, to both increase their profit from your stay and to keep the assembly line of patients (revenue factory) rolling through. They don’t buy the best materials or equipment for your care, they buy the cheapest that they can get away with. A lot of improvisation happens, yes, even in surgery.
So if your contention is that the govt run system wouldn’t be better, the bar is pretty low. Plus, you can go bankrupt with a cancer diagnosis or heart condition in our system, so there’s that.
There are a lot of better systems. Much of Europe, Australia, Japan, Canada... take your pick.
I know all about how the our health care is set up my whole family is in the health care business. NGV is an ICU travel nurse . Hospitals are ran on a business model you would get better care with less cost if Drs and hospitals weren’t allowed to run and be paid for by the government all those extra tests that aren’t needed . We see how bloated the system will be right now with the extra paperwork that’s required for ACA and anything the government has to pay for . You aren’t going to convince me that those costs will decrease or the hospitals will become more effective or efficient under full government control .
86% of Canadians approve of their healthcare system, 47% of Americans do. Next.If Canada's is so great, why do 52k Canadians flee to the US for medical attention each year? Oh, that's right: their universal, government ran, single payer system leads to significant delays in access to quality care. Similar situations regarding lengthy delays basically everywhere that has adopted a universal care system.
I just told you why. If you’re impervious to certitude, so be it.
I don’t know, according to the other dude, 50,000 some? Then there’s this...And how many Canadians come south for procedures they have to wait for in Canada?
Ours was great until ZeroCare.
I've seen healthcare systems elsewhere. It ain't all sunshine and unicorns like you want to portray. Some things are better and some are a lot are worse than ours. But by all means, go down to Colombia and have your girlfriends breasts done. It's cheap there. What does that have to do with healthcare, Napoleon?
Many of those 1.4 million Americans are stupid and will vote for Biden as well.I don’t know, according to the other dude, 50,000 some? Then there’s this...
1.4 Million Americans Will Go Abroad for Medical Care This Year. Should You?
I just told you that history isn’t on your side with facts about government ran programs . How is it possible then that a program that will instantly become one of the largest federal ran programs in this country will become better , more efficient and effective when the government can’t run smaller programs without ruining them ? Your logic is flawed
True. The lie of "If you like your doctor..." kicked as many people off of their coverage as it added though. And yes there is some hyperbole in there as I don't have the stats, but I know several that got punted because of the ZeroCare lies.It was better/less expensive for those with insurance, for those that needed healthcare in between jobs or due to no job it was really bad.
