I have said from the start Amy is completely qualified to be on SCOTUS. She has the qualifications, she's been on a lesser bench, she didn't do anything during her hearings to spook the GOP to vote against her. Obama was a lame duck because he was on the tail end of his second term by Feb 2016. The upcoming election was, therefore, inconsequential in this matter - unless he planned on not vacating the WH. Personally in my opinion seeing that Clinton was taking over the WH, any delay would have been risky business. The senate was in republican hands because a lot of the country didn't want anything else to do with obama and his continuing foolishness - to include another SC justice after the two clowns he'd just put there.

Partisan and biased much? With this logic the country doesn't want a 2nd term of trump because the truest democratic house is the house of reps and definitely went blue in 2018. The house of reps are more responsive to the will of the people due to being based on population and only 2 year terms.

Obama was not lame duck president. Lame duck presidents have their successor named this certainly was not the case in February. Mitch clutched his pearls because he could not stop obama legislation and double downed on zero sum politics.
