Anarchy In Portland

Man fatally shot after pro-Trump caravan was Patriot Prayer ‘friend and supporter’ Aaron Danielson

Around 8 p.m., Kyzik posted calls for conservative activists to leave Portland. About an hour later, Danielson was shot and killed.

Duncomb said Danielson was not carrying a gun, although his friend and a person who was with him were both equipped with canisters of bear spray.

Video footage of the altercation that led to the shooting shows a person shouting “I’ve got one,” purportedly calls to surrounding bystanders that a Trump caravan participant was downtown.

It’s unclear what led to shots being fired, but a succession of pops can be heard before a person begins walking toward a parking garage near Southwest Third and Alder before crumpling to the ground.

Video taken from another angle that does not capture the shooting but does include audio of the incident, shows a man wearing a white long-sleeve shirt rushing toward Danielson once he’s on the ground and saying, “Jay, are you okay?”

The man in the white shirt then repeatedly tries to pull Danielson up but he is unresponsive.

A possible suspect. Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, was identified as being at the scene. In addition, he was arrested for an incident on July 5th, but the DA decided it wasn't worth the effort to move forward.

On July 5 at one of the demonstrations, Reinoehl was cited at 2:10 a.m. in the 700 block of Southwest Main Street on allegations of possessing a loaded gun in a public place, resisting arrest and interfering with police

He was given a date to appear in court later that month, but the allegations were dropped on July 30 with a “no complaint,” according to court records. The documents don’t indicate why prosecutors decided not to pursue the accusations. Reinoehl spent no time behind bars.

Brent Weisberg, a spokesman for Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt, said the office is still reviewing that July case involving Reinoehl.

Schmidt earlier Sunday decried the deadly violence. He took office on Aug. 1 and quickly announced that he wouldn’t pursue low-level charges against demonstrators, such as interfering with police or resisting arrest. He wasn’t district attorney when the office handled Reinoehl’s gun case

NY Times now reporting victim was with Patriot Prayer, a far right group. So presumably the shooter was with antifa.
Well done on jumping the gun as usual. Of course you already plastered a bunch of tweets and links because you thought it fit your narrative. I’m willing to bet if I keep scrolling those posts about this death stopped. Surely your gloating about it did.

What would you have him do?
“Burning down communities is not protest, it’s needless violence — violence that endangers lives, violence that guts businesses and shutters businesses that serve the community. That’s wrong.”

Biden said the wisest words he had heard so far on the matter came from Blake’s mother, Julia Jackson.

“She looked at the damage done in her community and said this, ‘This doesn’t reflect my son or my family. So let’s unite and heal, do justice, end the violence and end systemic racism in this country. Now.’”
Biden just recently started speaking out because he realized his silence was losing votes. Even CNN was saying just the other day how Biden needed to come out and condemn the violence. Lo and behold.

Jees. The Portland DA and Mayor are freaking clowns. Arrest the guy on a weapons charge, release him and then basically no bill, then if it is him the guy winds up shooting somebody less than a month later. Idiots.

So do you agree the victim fired mace first? If so, my question about Rittenhouse stands: he had a bag thrown at him and was then chased by an unarmed man that he shot and killed. Conceptually, if what Rittenhouse did was self defense, why isn't shooting someone who fires mace at you?

Justin Dunlap, who witnessed the shooting and captured some of it on his Facebook live stream, said he "didn't hear much lead up to it."
"I heard like three seconds of yelling and saw a guy spray bear mace," Dunlap told CNN. "The victim sprayed mace and launched it right into the other guy."
CNN has not confirmed if the victim is the person who sprayed mace. "I've watched the video 100 times, slow-mo and on my TV, and still don't know where the shots actually came from," Dunlap said.

Yep. Arrested on a weapons violation and intoxication. If the DA proceeds, Danielson is still alive today.

You would think if the suspect acted solely out of self defense and had witnesses to back it up he would have already turned himself in with a lawyer in tow.

My theory, based on what I've seen, is that the victim and his buddy were looking for stray ANTIFA guys to mace and decided to mace the wrong dude. I don't think anyone can deny that (1) the victim was walking towards the shooter, who was crossing the street and, if anything, was moving away from the victim before stopping to confront him (which our Republican friends refer to as "standing his ground"), and (2) the victim discharged his mace before the shooter fired his gun. The voice I hear on the tape saying "we got a couple here" sounds very much like the voice of the victim's friend, now identified as Chandler Pappas (see video below, comparing both the unidentified voice and the voice of Pappas immediately after the shooting). We also know that Chandler Pappas was the first to reach the victim (just a few seconds after he fell to the ground), so he likely was in close proximity to the victim at the time of the shooting. We also know that when Pappas arrived to aid the victim he was carrying a can of mace, which he dropped to attend to the victim. This suggests the two may have been working as a pair to mace people that they thought were associated with ANTIFA. Do I think this constitutes self-defense on the part of the shooter? No. He could have easily retreated and the force used in defense was excessive and not reasonable. But I do think in the wackadoo world of gun nuts, they would agree with what the ANTIFA guy did if the roles had been reversed (an ANTIFA guy macing a Trumper with a gun).

No you engaged in more wild ass conjecture like you’ve been doing all day. And that isn’t a new video I saw it earlier this morning. None of your conjecture has held any weight in showing the shooter had any reason to feel their life was in danger and felt deadly force was necessary. Engage that.
Again it was clear cut murder until she found out it was her side doing the murdering.

New footage of the immediate aftermath of the shooting. I don't pretend to be a speech analyst but there are two uses of the word "here." One which has already been discussed where we hear "we got us a couple here." After the shooting, the victim's friend rushes over and starts rendering aid to the victim. When other help comes he pushes them off and says "get the eff outta here." The two uses of the term "here" sound in a similar voice to me. Also, the victim's friend is carrying something in his hand (likely mace). This also would be consistent with the Trumpers trolling the street looking for people to mace.

Walking the streets with tools of self defense is asking for it.....how are you against any cop related shooting with this metric?

You guys seem to forget that when the video was first released I said it looked like a straight up murder. I have since seen the the slo-mo video and the second video with the audio preceding the shooting. I still don't believe it constitutes self-defense, but I do believe the shooter was not the aggressor (he was crossing the street and the angle suggests he may have actually been retreating from the victim) and that the victim discharged his mace before the shooter fired.

Can you show me in that diatribe where the shooter was in fear for his life and felt lethal force was necessary?

Lol no. If portlandia wants to burn itself down and it doesnt effect other states the president needs to stfu and stay out of it. Not a federal problem.

Unless they can track violence to crossing the Columbia, which wouldnt be too hard or unrealistic. But until that point this is a state issue.
