I will give Harrison some credit for calling Kaminsky and apologizing for not calling him a cracker instead.

the white kids in Oklahoma got kicked out of school, they apologized but they were removed from school, shouldn't Harrison receive the same punishment

Meh....he obviously said what he intended whether he said it in a jokingly, racial, or disrespectful way. The apology was just for us.

No...lets use a little better judgement here. What he said was ignorant at best.

Yeah the thing is, Kaminksy is obviously white. Of course it would be a bigger deal if Kaminksy said it about Harrison. Use some common sense.

In both instances it would've been a young man making a hateful comment that originated out of a combination of frustration and disdain for the other player. Other than the extremely, emotionally charged way that society would react to it, I'm having a really hard time finding a fundamental difference.

The difference is, Kaminsky wouldn't have been given the opportunity to apologize to make everything better. No apology would've been good enough. I would've hardly thought twice about what Harrison said and wouldve commended him for apologizing like he did. It's not even him that is the problem. It's the race-baiters, the agenda-driven media and politicians that piss me off. Harrison apologized and that's great, I don't think he's a bad kid. But if that had been Kaminsky saying that about Harrison, all hell would be breaking loose and no apology from Kaminsky would be good enough to keep his life from being turned upside down by every media outlet in the country.

A white girl at USCe wrote the n word on a white board. They suspended her immediately. Should not be any difference her and Harrison

Not exactly apples and apples but it does have a lot of similarities. Let's be honest though, the main difference is who was on the receiving end.

The only similarity is a word being used. Beyond that the comparison is ludicrous. Actually the entire debate is

Actually I can find a few similarities. Young, immature adults involved, disrespectful/hateful words used, and both captured by video/media putting it out there for us to discuss. Im sure I can find more, but you are welcome to your opinion.

There was nothing truly hateful about what Harrison said

Your post is irrelevant to this thread. He's guilty of being a terrible sport and a severe lack of respect but that's about it

Then take the "N-word" out. A black kid says "F" a white kid. Nothing there? What about if Kaminsky had said "F Harrison". You don't think anything would've been made of it?

The other things is, I actually heard multiple sports media people say that he wasn't being disrespectful at all to Kaminsky. That he was actually showing respect to him and that his only mistake was saying what he said where it could be heard, that he should've known better since he's in front of microphones all the time.

Are you kidding? I'm basing it off of situations that have already happened. Think Duke Lacrosse and other "race-fueled" situations that have already occurred. The template is set and the activists are ready to pounce. It's sad, but it's true.

You are exactly right. The double standard is BS.

I don't form my opinion based on what others think. Kaminsky using the same phrase would absolutely mean something different. Anyone who believes it should be the same is a complete moron.

As I said earlier, the kid is guilty of being a terrible sport and having a complete lack of respect for his opponent in the heat of the moment. Both of which can be explained (not excused) by what had just happened and the age/maturity of the speaker.
