if i had $50 mil in the bank i'd stil tell my son he's an idiot to not take the money.
That fact you'd feel the need to tell an adult what to do means you're an overbearing meddler and your kid's an idiot for listening.

if you never asked your dad for advice that says more about your father than anything else. I still ask my dad's opinion about job offers and i'm much older than luck.

Droski makes a great point. Look how staying in school ruined the lives of Peyton Manning and Grant Hill.

An adult who still needs his parent's advice isn't really an adult.

I'll add this; the people that usually dont worry about the money, have it.

hatvol makes a great point. look how staying in school didn't hurt jake locker and matt leinert.
Yeah, Leinart looked miserable the last time I saw him wasted in Vegas with models and B list actors folowing him around. Guy is probably suicidal. I'm sure Jake Locker is going to be slitting his wrists when he hears his name called in the Top 20.

we'll see where both are 10 years from now. i bet that extra $15 mil would come in handy. locker will be lucky to be a first rounder.

When the commish of the NFL feels it necessary to communicate to NFL fans that a deal CAN be made, it's a red flag. When the NFLPA reads his statement and says something to the effect of, "we are not even close", that's a red flag. When the consensus #1 pick takes 48 hours and says he's staying put, that's a red flag. What if there's no NFL football next year?

The Leinert example is weak sauce. That guy is an idiot and you know it Droski.

doesn't matter. guy went from a top-3 draft pick to bottom of the first round. gave up tens of millions of guaranteed money. considering he's likely out of the league in a couple of years i'd say he coudl probably use the extra $$.

Exactly. Andrew has the Luck to decide what to do simply on the basis of what he will enjoy most. He's one of the fortunate few.

I've been around enough pros to know the guys who go broke after getting 20 mil would be broke if they had gotten 100 mil. It would just take them a little longer to get there.

Hat, this might be the first, and maybe only, time I will ever say this, but you are absolutely correct on this statement, sir.
