Andrew Luck is staying at Stanford

I agree w/ Dorski, its so much $$. People just dont realize how much that is. You take the money

He is playing with fire

What fire? The great QB crushing defenses of the PAC10(12)? His stock is not going to drop. He is as elite of a QB prospect as there has ever been.

doesn't matter. guy went from a top-3 draft pick to bottom of the first round. gave up tens of millions of guaranteed money. considering he's likely out of the league in a couple of years i'd say he coudl probably use the extra $$.

No he didn't. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the 10th pick in the first round (right before Denver took Jay Cutler).

guys have had season ending injuries warming up. don't think the pac-10 has much to do with his decision.

Matt Leinart was insured for a whole Hell of a lot more than 3 million dollars.

LLOYD'S OF London knows him and, if they could, they'd tell you about his insurance policy.

Matt Leinart has his reasons for staying at USC - ESPN The Magazine

"In a nutshell, Matt Leinart is well-protected. The Leinarts would prefer to keep it quiet, but the gist of their policy is this: if, for instance, Matt falls from first to 15th overall in next year's draft, the insurance company will pay him the difference. In cash. It's called loss of value insurance, and only an athlete of Leinart's pedigree and potential is allowed to buy it.

"Odds are the insurance company will still make money," Bob Leinart says. "I mean, what could happen to him to make him drop to 15? With today's medicine, unless Matt gets his left arm cut off, there's practically no chance."

ever torn your ACL? I have and it was too easy. One bad step and he flushes $10 Mil down the toilet

Sounds well worth the risk.

Hmm. A bunch of Zeros in my bank account and a fat pad with a garage full of toys while living next to Dale Jr Vs another year of carrying books around and living in a dumpy college apartment while my university baby sits a new coach. Hmm

Hmm by all accounts he is a very smart guy. Im sure he understands the risks. And depite all of that he has still decided that he wants to stay in school.

You know what I say? Good for him. He's lucky enough that his parents are rich so he can get his degree and enjoy his life in college as long as possible. I salute him.

I do predict at least three NFL teams losing more than 13 games next year. Not that they would try to get the top pick...

Stanford isn't even an accredited architecture school. Guess who is...UNC Charlotte and NCSU. He should take the $50 million and find time to get a degree in Charlotte.

I think, strictly in terms of his NFL future (not financially speaking), it's a bad idea. I think he would still be the #1 overall pick, and Carolina is in an unusually good position for a team with the top overall pick. Don't be fooled, they have some legit offensive talent. Next year it could be a team in much worse shape.

Looks like 11/12/11 at Stanford Stadium will decide the Pac-12 North, possibly a NC berth, and possibly the Heisman next year.
