Another bad apple (George Floyd case)

100% agree. No matter what, people are always going to focus on this. That being said, ending the war on drugs would dramatically reduce the number of interactions, and thus would dramatically reduce the number of bad interactions. It's just a no-brainer all the way around. It helps to solve so many problems, would be budget positive, and it's the type of policy* that's easiest for government to pull off in practice.

*laissez faire

Ending the war on drugs isn’t gonna solve anything for already responsible law abiding citizens. Criminals and drug addicts, mostly one and the same, will still do what they do.

BET Founder Robert Johnson Calls for ‘$14 Trillion’ for Slavery Reparations

The founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), Robert Johnson says the recent riots prove that the U.S. needs to “go big” with a “$14 trillion” expenditure for slavery reparations as a way to address racial inequality in America.

I think a murder 3 or manslaughter charge has a high probability of conviction. Especially If the coroner report is right and it wasn’t asphyxiation that was actual cause of death. The only thing they have at that point is the officers intentionally doing nothing to help while he died.
The coroner has already listed method of restraint as a contributing factor. Strangulation and asphyxiation would come from pressure on the front of neck and larynx. Pressure on the back is listed if the officers hand book as inherently dangerous.

For example, people don’t die because their heart quits beating. They die because their brain becomes injured or oxygen deprived.

Pressure to the throat/airway inhibits oxygen to the lungs.
pressure to the back and side of neck limits blood taking oxygen and to the brain.

Even limiting this in someone with a health condition could be deadly.

ESPN Reporter Who Cheered Violence Suddenly Upset When His Neighborhood Was Threatened

Three days. That was how long it took for ESPN reporter and NBA biographer Chris Martin Palmer to go from a vocal supporter of the violent mobs across the country to a terrorized potential victim criticizing the ‘’animals’’ who were committing the same violence. What happened in that short time span? Palmer found himself on the receiving end of the very violence he had been cheering on.

This is one of the good stories from these riots

The participants in the Boston Tea Party faced death if caught, so IMO the two are not comparable.

You'd accept literally any reason as to why it's different. The difference in stakes doesn't change the principle of it.

Michigan Democrat Party Chair: ‘If You Support Donald Trump, You Are a Racist’

The chairwoman of the Michigan Democrat Party (MDP) condemned all supporters of Donald Trump as “racist” during a Sunday tirade.

On the same day rioters attacked businesses and even Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s office building in downtown Lansing, MDP chair Lavora Barnes smeared Trump’s backers.

In a statement titled, “The Time for Silence is Over,” Barnes warned the tactics Democrats are using do not “seem to be working” before she attacked Trump’s supporters.

“If you support Donald Trump, you are a racist. Here is where it gets tricky and uncomfortable,” she said.

“Donald Trump is a racist, and if being a racist is not a dealbreaker for you, you are the reason Black people are being murdered for being Black.”

If the "protesters" want to start a rebellion to throw off the yoke of tyranny then they are welcome and justified in doing so. Right now it looks like they just want to tear things up and steal ****.

Watch: ‘We Need to Burn This Sh*t Down… The West Is Falling!’ Black Lives Matter Protest in London

The George Floyd protests took a global turn over the weekend as Antifa and Black Lives Matter activists took to the streets of London to ‘stand up to racism’ and to celebrate the riots engulfing the United States, which they claim is a signal that “the West is falling”.

In a Breitbart News Network exclusive video, thousands of protesters were filmed gathering in Central London on Sunday, in open defiance of the national coronavirus restrictions.

In stark contrast to the arrests of peaceful anti-lockdown protesters in Hyde Park the day before, the Metropolitan Police took no actions to stop the left-wing demonstration that lasted well into the evening and spanned several miles of the city.

“It’s time to wake up and get out [of] the house and f*** this place up, man. I’m tired of this ****. We need to burn this **** down. I don’t care what the London mayor says. The West is falling! The West is falling!” screamed a BLM speaker in Trafalgar Square.

A young, left-wing, white woman then urged the native population of Britain to: “Use your white privilege and help our brothers and sisters. Use your white privilege because we are the only people, cause we created the system that help the police cover up all these deaths.”

Another BLM protester said: “I stand in the face of racism every single day… like we all do. We are all here because we are experiencing secondary trauma from the brutalisation that we experience based on the fact that racism is embedded in the very structure of this society.”

Leslie Jones: ‘Burn Down This ******* Constitution’

Former Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones says people participating in the nationwide protests in response to the police involved death of George Floyd should focus on voting — saying, “burn down this f***ing Constitution’ — rather than burning property.

Bill de Blasio on Daughter’s Arrest: ‘I’m Proud of Her That She Cares so Much’

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) reacted to the arrest of his daughter, Chiara, at a protest hotspot that had descended into rioting in response to the death of George Floyd, a black man who died in police custody in Minneapolis.

“As was reported, my daughter, Chiara at a protest,” de Blasio began in a press conference. “I want you first to know, and I think many parents can appreciate this, she is 25 years old and did not inform us of her intention to get arrested.”

Here you go lumping them all in with the opportunist looters again. You conveniently see it however you want to see it. They don't look like actual protesters because you do not want to seem them that way. They're all illegitimate to you, and you're not going to change your mind to something more reasonable regardless of the reality that protesters are behaving in a variety of different ways for a variety of different reasons. It's so obvious and it takes an absolute caveman to continuously try to simplify it to the level you're aiming for.
