Another bad apple (George Floyd case)

'My head is spinning': Minneapolis restaurant owner assesses damage the morning after Rioting

Charles Stotts, the co-owner of Town Talk Diner and Gastropub, barely slept as he waited for the sun to rise so he could return safely to his Longfellow eatery Thursday morning and assess the damage after a night of violence and looting.

“We got there, and it was so much worse than I could have imagined,” he said.

Several restaurants are located in the area where unrest broke out Wednesday night after earlier protests over the death of George Floyd. Owners of Gandhi Mahal, Midori’s Floating World Cafe and El Nuevo Rodeo, which are located at the same corner as Town Talk, about two blocks from the Third Precinct of the police department, were not immediately available for comment Thursday morning.

Town Talk Diner and Gastropub, with its historically landmarked sign, has been closed for on-premise dining since March 17 due to the coronavirus. Stotts was planning to reopen June 1 with sidewalk seating. “Sadly, that’s going to be on hold a little bit,” he said. Already facing setbacks from the pandemic, and now the riots, a “rattled” Stotts said 2020 is shaping up to be the “hardest of the hard.”

Union Avenue shut down overnight as Memphians demonstrate for George Floyd at police precinct

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A group of frustrated Memphians demonstrated Wednesday in support of justice for George Floyd, a black man who died after being restrained on the ground by Minnesota police while saying he couldn’t breathe.

The protest in Memphis was in front of the Midtown police precinct, and police shut down a portion of Union Avenue during the protest.

It started around 7:30 p.m. when 20-30 people began a silent protest in reaction to the death of Floyd. They were lined up along Union until a small group of counter-protesters showed up across the street.

The night became contentious with both sides yelling at each other as tensions rose. Police stepped in, shutting down Union and allowing both sides to protest without coming in contact with the other.

Officers took three of the demonstrators, Laura Mason, Dominic Vietti, Joangela Sigala and Tony Liggins, into custody and charged them with obstruction of a highway. Vietti was also charged with inciting a riot while Sigala and Liggins face disorderly conduct charges.

Another woman, Katherine Pace, allegedly hit an officer in the back of the neck during the protest. She was charged with assault.

like wearing masks?
No, Ricky. Not like wearing masks.

Since you want to make that silly leap, though, I will say that you and the other luddites who refuse to wear mask because it's obviously a partisan issue are, in your own way, *blindly* following a herd mentality.

Yep. You definitely used to be a cop.

‘Watchmen’ Actress Frances Fisher: ‘They Want a Race War. We’ll Give Them a RACE WAR’

Hollywood actress Frances Fisher posted an inflammatory tweet this week calling for a “race war” in apparent response to the death of George Floyd who was arrested by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was seen on video putting his knee on Floyd’s neck. The Titanic and HBO’s Watchmen star also quoted convicted cop killer Assata Shakur before deleting the tweet.

“They want a race war. We’ll give them a race war,” Frances Fisher wrote on Tuesday, according to an archived screenshot of the deleted tweet. She also expressed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement. “I’m with #BlackLivesMatter. We will win.”

The actress then quoted Assata Shakur, a member of the Black Liberation Army who murdered New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster in 1973.

“It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains,” Fisher’s tweet states.

It remains unclear why Fisher deleted her tweet.

Yeah you can. Its called being a chickensh!t.

Luckily one store owner didnt put up with it and shot and killed a protester degenerate looter last night. My favorite thing about democrats. They take one tragic incident then go apesh!t and turn it into multiple tragic incidents in their own communities. Love it.[/QUOTE]
It's because you're a psychopath.

And if you're one of those 4 cops, and the suspect is now cuffed and not resisting and under control, GTF off his neck when he repeatedly says he can't breathe. The situation had long passed the need to physically pin him to the ground. There was not much thought went into securing an unarmed no-violent suspect. If he resisted at first, fine, take him down and get him secured. Then GTF off his neck. You just ruined your career, life, and your families lives over unnecessary restraint at the point it was no longer needed. And the other 3 as well because no one de-escalated a now peaceful situation, or intervened with the one cop putting the suspect in distress after the fact.

As for the people attacking a wheel chaired older white lady for being white, they need to be identified and given the same treatment these cops face. That was outright racism and race crime. The cops are guilty of stupidity. Can't prove racism was a factor. It has been made one but can't be proven in court.

One fact that does exist in all these cases going back to St. Louis or further, when it involved alleged racist cop behavior towards blacks, it always involved responding to criminals/criminal behavior. None of them were innocently targeted for being good law abiding people that happened to be black.. But, the aftermath was full on race card.

I don’t disagree with anything you said.

If someone walks into your house and says they are taking all your things, do you value their life or your stuff more?

I must be super irrational because that's not even a difficult question.

Nice strawman.
