Another bad apple (George Floyd case)

He was wrong and should be held accountable. It’s not racial it’s the effect of repeatedly dealing with the same scum on a daily basis and letting emotions overcome rational thought in a heated moment.
Probably so.... this time the guy just happened to be black.... it could just as easily happened to a white guy

It appears from the 20 seconds of tape that every news channel runs that the force was excessive but we are seeing one angle. The deceased was obviously able to inhale since his cry’s for relief was louder than the officers. I believe he was having difficulty breathing but was it for the knee or some medical cause ( the officers had an ambulance on the way and suspected he was under the influence of something) It’s Minneapolis which elected Talib so they will side a certain way. I’m not saying the officers are completely innocent but when all the news reports show the same exact film footage and have very similar commentary I question if we are being told what to believe

If they violated their training (they did), if they didn't follow written General Orders and Procedures regarding use of force (they didn't), these guys are are screwed. They have been fired quickly even before an I/A investigation has been completed which will roast them. Their union will be paying for their lawyers but the City most likely will not. The City will try to cut all ties with them. The City can choose not to indemnify them (a big deal) based on their actions that violated written department policy and caused a death to someone in their custody.

They will face criminal charges. They will face Federal civil rights charges as the FBI is already involved. They will be sued civilly. They are going to prison most likely. Every penny they have to their name will be spent and then some when they lose in every court proceeding they are subject to.

It just won't happen fast enough.

Possible. This was in Minnesota? Ill check tomorrow.

But it would be unusual to grant fees against government agencies as a matter of course.
Good point. I wasn’t thinking about it being against a government agency. That certainly may change the rules. Of course, being the plaintiff rather than the defendant matters I’m sure. There’s no way you’re getting fees against an agency as a defendant.

And that’s why the officer deserves due process just like everyone else. It looks horrible right now but not all the horses are in the barn, so to speak.

this is true and I’m not sure what the answer is..... several years ago.... I had a red trans am with silver ground effects..... I was speeding doing about 90.... cops on other side of highway turned on their lights as they passed.... I decided to run from them thinking that they couldn’t get turned around in time to catch me .... I turned down streets trying to escape..... I pulled down this one street and their was what appeared to be almost 500 African-Americans outside.... two cop cars pulled in behind me and made me get out of the car.....a black teenager asked me what did you do? The cops drawer their weapons and told everyone to stay the f back.... I could tell those two cops were scared to freaking death down there in that neighbor.... Anyone made a wrong move and it was going down...

You have to spend the night in the pokey?

That picture on the left in the blue uni disgusts me to no end. The picture on the right... meh. I mean men get down on their knees to pray but I don't want to turn this into another Kaperprick thread.
That piece of **** on the left killed a man with absolutely no remorse on his face or in his body language. Shades kicked back on his head like he's waiting in line for a cheeseburger, total POS. The epitome of a jackbooted leo who probably has a god complex and thinks he's better than the man he killed and anyone who dare questions his actions. Probably punches his wife as well.

I've been arrested before, had the cuffs put on a couple of times. Usually much tighter than necessary, you know cut into the skin to show you who's the boss.
People always throw out the "don't resist" thing and I get that. But it only takes that one leo who's having a bad day, maybe the old lady or boyfriend didn't give him any last night and he's on a rampage. Twist the arms up behind your back until you think your shoulder will snap, put the cuffs on tight then pick you up by them. if that's ever happened to you, not resisting may look a bit different in your eyes.

He should be charge with 2nd degree murder and his bald headed stumpy side kick an accessory to the same.
I'm not anti cop and I've been a white boy all my damn life, to see someone with a badge do this with no regard to anther humans existence......disgusting. The cop best be hiding, or in protective custody.

It really does appear to be indefensible
The only thing I can think of that would be a somewhat plausible defense is that he was following his training...if that is in the training. Still even then its not enough to get him off. Maybe the difference between murder-2 and manslaughter.

Nope..... I got off with a speeding ticket and a stern lecture..... they thought I was dealing drugs and asked to search my car.... I let them..... they asked if I was running from them.... I told them no m, I was lost trying to find the softball park( I was on my way to a game and in my uniform)... one cop was an a$$hole to me and everyone around there.... he wanted to arrest me.... the other cop was really nice and let me go.

Yeah, this is a police problem, not (necessarily) a race problem.
Absolutely. Horrible, horrible example of over policing that I’ve continued to point out. But, we have a bunch of latent realist here who don’t really value people of color. Just another dead ..........You have a bunch of crackers who feel oppressed because they’re expected to wear a mask. Meanwhile.......

I wouldn’t call an intoxicated guy with a long criminal history causing a disturbance on drugs and trying to steal from a business “over policing”. They didn’t pull this guy over because of a broken tail light
