Yeap. Especially for coaches like Pearl and Miller. Once it is said and done those 2 programs along with the coaches will be rocked imo. Both will never coach again anywhere in basketball
From Clay Travis...
Wow, great stuff from @DanWetzel just now on @outkick on college basketball scandal. Asked to set over/under on Big 5 conference coaches who could lose their jobs over this FBI case, he set it at 20. Twenty!
To my knowledge. Absolutely
Agreed, even if just 5 more head coaches get fired, this scandal would be unprecedented. Petino is the first coaching casualty, Miller is more or less done at Arizona. So that would be 2 and Bruce's firing seems close to inevitable, making 3. He!!, with a few assistant coaches looking at jail time and another head coach or 2 going down, it may already be a done deal as the Greatest Scandal of all Time in college sports
Im guessing that includes assistants. Not as shocking if it does include assistants.
Need to be careful with statements like this.
I mean, how are you supposed to handle programs arranging for the payment of hundreds of thousands of dollars to kids though? I feel like the penalties should be a lot harsher than what Bruce got when he was here.
I do understand your point that if he did something seriously wrong he shouldn't be hypocritical though.
Not just about him. A booster at his current or former job could have done something once upon a time. An assistant coach of his could have done something without him knowing. I would just be careful with my words. JMO.
That is where they could be lenient. If it was a one time thing (that they find out about), and the head coach did not know about, that is one thing. If the head coach is involved, and it is thousands of dollars, that is quite another.
