5.6 PPG, < 40% FG <60 % FT. Regressed every year of his career from mediocre just not good enough. Barton is not good.
He's better than the alternative you moron.
When Barton takes this team further and to a better record next year than Trae did this year I can't wait to see what your dumba$$ has to say.
To question AB's game is to not know his game. I say it again "straight Baller". On par if not better than JJ.
Awful lot of hype for a guy that spent most of last season on the bench.
I have serious doubts he's better (or even "better for the team") than Golden, but as BTO said, he's much, much better than the alternative.
There really wasn't much room for him in the rotation with the strong play of Geron Johnson.
Yes, I understand. Johnson took a month or so to get going. But once AB went out, he never really got back in. People are freaking out over his lack of production last year, but it was for a reason. Just because someone may be better than you, doesn't mean you aren't good. IMO, Johnson was the best player on the team last- overall play and pro potential.
He broke his foot in the middle of the year. I saw that he missed about 10 games, but I swear it seemed like more. He came back for the conference tourney but didn't seem to get back in the rotation much.
He is getting overhyped by our fans....he wasn't lighting it up before the injury but I'm very very happy we got him.
Overhyped?
I've yet to see anyone predict he'll be an all-American...or all SEC, or second team all-SEC.
I think most would agree the expectation statistically is probably about 8ppg 4apg 2topg 40%3pt, and for him to be consistent and most importantly play tough D night in and night out.
If you think that's overhyping and expect less from him, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I can definitely see that stat line......obviously u have not been reading the forums much today.....no ones called him all American but their has been a lot of hype over him.
