Antonio Barton is coming to UT

So is it more important for you PG to be a better FT or 3P shooter? Not that this guy is a better shooter than Trae Golden by any stretch. He is simply less of a talent offensively and gets better shots.
Actually whether he's better than Golden is moot.
Can you deny that starting the senior at PG is better than starting the freshman?
Would you be the first dogging Thompson if he couldn't handle the pressure?

VOL!!!!!

A little late, but I love it!! Can't get enough cheering for the team in these parts. GO VOLS!!

You're nuts. Put it like this. In a one on one Johnson can't beat Barton and has NEVER beat him. Period. JJ is the hometown brotha. Don't get me wrong he's a baller and will play pro ball but Barton is a better baller and more mature on the floor. He got caught in the middle of hometown favortism. Bottom line. Granted there are those who may not believe but I've seen these two head to head and Barton is much better.

OMG, I don't post on here but this is just insane. Tone is better that JJ? You have no clue. AB is a great kid and a very very good player, but not better that JJ, not even close. Antonio is one of my favorites and I hate to see him go. It's a great pickup for UT. We got him as a packaged deal with Will, but he more than proved himself to be a great baller. You got a good one, especially in crunch time. He won several games for us at the buzzer. I definitely would not want to see him in a tight game with a few seconds left on the clock with the ball playing against us. Congrats!

Harris averaged 1.3 assists. Golden averaged 3.9.

How did I know that would be the sole stat you'd throw out there?

That is completely beside the point. You said A&M didn't even have a decent PG last year. Harris is way more than decent, and excels in all the areas where Golden (your apparent standard-bearer) struggles. The one area he pales in comparison is assists. Yet he is equal, or more efficient in nearly every other area, and particularly in the areas Golden struggled most; shooting, defense, and ball-handling.

Good point guy. I have mentioned similar a couple of times. Hope this dont sound like Trae bashin, but IMO he was the biggest reason for the consistancy issues we had last year. We dont need a 20-30pt a game scoring pg. We just need somebody to manage the offense(get other guys involved and score when open), handle the ball(aka limit turnovers), and play solid defense.

Jinx alert:
No way this years team has even 1 game scoring in the 30's. Thats right I said it..... wha wha cha gonna do???
Its not really bashing Trae its just you could see he wasn't a true point guard. No matter how much Zo tried to instill that mentality some guys do what they want to do. AB can play this position and he's good. To question AB's game is to not know his game. I say it again "straight Baller". On par if not better than JJ.

Trae's "up and down" at the point guard position had less to do with him being a "true" point guard and more to do with effort and attitude.

Barton not being a "true" point will not keep him from being successful.

He played a lot of minutes at PG but wasn't their main option there... Reese was, at least originally, but he had a disappointing freshman season.

You said it yourself. He played a lot of minutes there and took hold when their original plan struggled. He might not be a PG by trade, but neither was Golden.

Fabyon is not a PG. They didn't even use him in a PG role. Caruso was used as a point forward. He was the distributor. They are absolutely desperate for a PG, so is Syracuse.

Just don't feed the troll, but I am going to say it one time. Fabyon Harris is a PG! He was a PG in high school, and he was a PG in JUCO. Look it up if you don't believe me. I love how you can spot off things without any recourse. Someone loves to exaggerate.

I don't give a damn what he played in high school. They ran their offense through a freshman named Alex Caruso. They are DESPERATE for point guard play.

I don't give a damn what you say because you are obviously full of it.

5.6 PPG, < 40% FG <60 % FT. Regressed every year of his career from mediocre just not good enough. Barton is not good.
