Any one else concerned

About the passing game? Were the receivers not getting open or was it the play calling ? I know Keaton was wide open and dropped a sure TD. We won’t be able to run like this in every game so the passing game has got to improve.

No. We were running the ball at will.

Outside of one bad series, I thought Milton looked good.

Same. Punting is by far my biggest concern! That wonky style is going to bite us at some point in the season!

To a lesser extent, my other concern is basically if you stop our running game, you'll stop our offense. Milton is just not the kind of QB that's going to extend plays and beat you with speed/elusiveness. He's also not a "carve you up" qb.

You might ultimately be right about Milton, but we don’t know that yet.

I'm more concerned about our kicking game than the passing. Our punter averaged around 35 yds from 5 punts, none inside the 20. Va's punter averaged around 10 more yds from 9 punts, 3 inside the 20. This will cost us big in conference play. I'm not a fan of the rugby style of punting.

No concern. But I also don’t expect the passing game to look identical to last season. Different players. The running game looked great. Maybe that is the strength this season. The defense looked great as well. If Keyton catches the long ball, everyone feels better.

Not concerned at all. Virginia was never going to come back and allowed us to play safe without going deep into the play book. Basic routes to cover

I saw WRs open. Milton missed 3 easy wide open passes just on 1 drive. Squirrel got banged up. Thornton is new. Keytons drop is a rare thing. Chill lol

I would hope the coaches let him practice making softer passes in practice and saving his " cannon " arm for downfield. And he missed a couple wide open receivers but overall , he seemed to handle the job ok. I think Hooker spoiled many fans last year with his ability to hit receivers all over the field but especially going deep.

It would have been a 50 burger if we didn't fumble punt return or if we caught a 60 yard bomb in the bread basket. Ramel Keyton is the difference between Milton having a good stat line and a mehh stat line.

I was concerned coming into the year. Joe eased some of those concerns today. He made good decisions, didn't put the ball in harms way and we absolutely destroyed an opponent the way we should have. Don't need to show much or get fancy when the game is hand.

The defense looked great today. I know Virginia isn't very good there but we got pressure and most importantly the secondary didn't give up big plays. Hadden concerns me far more than Joe.
