Not yet. I had Joe figured out for about 275 yards or so today. That one beauty of a ball that a toddler could come down with is actually caught and his totals would have been basically dead on what I expected.

Honestly, I'm surprised Joe was in the game as long as he was today. Thought Heup would want to get Nico as much game time as possible in these early games.

His final punt was 50 yards. No Colquitt averaged more the 43-45 yards. Give him some time. It's going to pay off.

We scored 49 points without being efficient. I don't think it's something fans should worry about.

NOPE. You load up the box get out of two deep safety formations and our receivers will get open and CJH will call pass plays. Pretty simple really. Cause we have 3 really good backs to stop.

Worried about Milton throwing to hard.
Worried about Dylan Sampson only being 195 lbs.
I'm worried James Pearce will dominate this season and sit out his junior year.

It's game 1, so I'm not concerned about that yet. Now Milton struggling on passes over 10 yards will hopefully get cleaned up. Very rarely is everyone on in game 1. My biggest concern was the 3rd downs we struggled to convert and some phases of the Special Teams. A couple bad punts, a punt return fumble and a few kickoffs that went put of bounds. But again, it's game 1 and our punter and kickoff specialists were playing in their first game. Like I've heard on a few YouTube videos and podcasts, the secondary guys like Hadden still don't look back to find the ball. That's DB 101. Does Martinez not teach not? But overall, a really good 1st game against a power 5 school. The offense was pretty vanilla and didn't have to show much.

Dylan Sampson should be getting more #2 reps behind Wright. He doesn't dance around or trip over grass like Small does sometimes. Sampson is going to be a beast in this offense.

Concerned about the kicking game - both punts and kickoffs. That’s got to get better. Otherwise, Milton had 200 yards passing without the deep ball, the defense was solid except for the one drive, and our top three RBs all had good days. Take the W and on to the next game.

His punting style/timing allows for coverage team to get downfield.
It doesn’t help if out-kicking the coverage allows for a long return.

The passing game greatly improved in the second half but the offensive line is definitely a concern imho as is the secondary but the defense looked better as a whole

I think some reservation of judgement is warranted, if only because of how bad Virginia might be. They were a 3 win team in 10 games last year before their season was cut short. I don't think we will really know how good we are until we face FL.

Please. He connected on 67% of his passes and had two dropped touchdowns that would have put him well over 300 yards. Give us a freaking break.

I was quite pleased for a first game effort. Always something to improve on. Passing game will only improve as Joe gains confidence and timing issues solve themselves. Only looked like the Joe of Old in one series.
