Any updates on Chris Jones?

I wish we would go after a true center just one time. We don't need a guy who is necessarily a good low post scorer, but we do need a huge body near the rim who can block shots and force people to change their shots. Our defense would be just sick with someone like that down low.

Watch out for 2013 C Moses Kingsley.

i think it all depends on who we can get...

1. i would say that if there is a stud juco pg then he may look at that route. someone that is better than golden so that golden can play the 2, and makes our team better.

2. if no option 1...then going after a stud wing that can come in and make an immediate impact. start at the sf position vacated by tatum, dont stretch for a player though only a guy who is good enough to come in and start.

3. we are pretty loaded with maymon, stokes, and the emergence of hall down low. all our post minutes are pretty much occupied so i dont see the reason to bring in a C unless it is just someone that you can pass up on.

personally, i say you take a quick look out there at what is available at the juco(zjc any idea who is out there for juco players) and if you can find an impact pg or wing you go for it, if not then save it.

There are very few JUCO recruiting sites out there, and rivals requires a subscription to look at JUCO players.

i wondered why nobody seems to ever have any information on juco players until they pretty much are brought onto campus, makes sense now. as i said unless you get a stud juco player who can come in and start, i say save it. the 13 class is absolutely a loaded class and we are going to have atleaast 4 scholarships to offer maybe 5 even 6, that could prove to be huge.

We are going to be able to take six guys if nobody leaves this year and we take nobody else.

You take Miller, Hall, Maymon, and McBee off scholly.

Jarnell will most likely go pro.

Then, I can't imagine all three of Washpun/Chevious/Reese staying. So that means another scholly potentially opening up.

yea it looks like we are going to have 6 most likely which is awesome. we are in on A LOT of the top 50 guys in that class, we could pull in a dream class, for us atleast. i am always leary of bringing in huge classes like that though because you are putting a lot into that and it usually has a few players that just dont work. we had a class like that in pearl's second year i think it was with crews, ramar, johnson, chism and a few others slipping my mind, we know how that worked out. memphis also brought in a huge class a couple years ago and so far that hasnt turned out the way they thought it would either.

as in they arent showing anything literally, or as in you see nothing worth going after?

We showed interest in Nino Jackson I think but he had grade issues and went the JUCO route. Pretty sure he will go to Oklahoma or Kansas though if he's even still around. Tough guard but not a true PG. But besides that, I don't know anyone else on the list.

The 2013 class is the class that will decide if Martin can take us to elite status.

Most likely the case, yes.

Agree. He can "offically" claim status to the Memphis pipeline if he grabs any of these kids. And returning pretty much everyone but Tatum should have us either top 25 or just setting out waiting to break in. :dance2:

No. There's a football player named Chris Jones on Bama's and UAB's radar. If CWGvol isn't making this up, he's either confusing 2 different people or he has sources.
