Any Vols Coming out to California for the Cal Game?

And maybe we can get us one of them snazzy new t-shirts while we're out there!!! :neener2:

"the intellegence of it's fan base"? How did you get through college? First, it's spelled "intelligence." Second, there's no shortcut; all you can do is memorize the rule. "It's" with an apostrophe means it is; its without an apostrophe means belonging to it. Most third graders know this rule already. Yes, you've been served. As a big fat, drug addicted hillbilly once said, "Thank you, thank you very much."

Now that you ask Mr. Spellcheck, I'm not real sure how I made it through college. I guess maybe I better keep it more on my level.

:finger3: :finger3: :finger3: :finger3: :finger3: :finger3:

There, not a word misspelled in the bunch.

I'll be there. Flying into Oakland on the 29th. I'll be more than happy to throw back a few cold ones with any Vol fans while there.:good!:

Gonna try to slide into Monterey and play Spanish Bay and the Bayonet for a couple of days before heading into fruitcake land (read: Berkeley)

Great to see such a lively debate taking place in here, with many interesting characters. Naturally it has been pretty one sided. I hope to debunk some of the more malicious fabrications leveled against our modestly great team. I will admit, I hate to be crass, but if forced to be, I can.

I am also happy to give any advice or directions for those of you planning to make a trip out to California to see this epic battle. (I have extensive knowledge on anything you could ever possibly hope to know about California.)

This battle of two great teams will be far, far closer than any of you are willing to admit. All in all, you have a fine program steeped in rich tradition. Nonetheless as history has shown time and time again, there is a continual changing of the guard as far as the upper echelon of college football goes. Sure, you guys have been great for decades, we were great decades ago.

There is no reason to assume that you will come all the way to California and beat the hell out of us. I would be very cautious in your bizarre predictions of the final score, as I would hate to see you jinx your own team.

Now, any questions?

I am most certainly not, my fair-minded friend. I am merely someone who seeks out the truth in a sea of torrent lies. Like I said, I hope to dispel many of the outlandish comments leveled against our fine University. I am sure you would do the same if placed in my shoes.

Also, allow me to apologize on behalf of the entire Territory of Bear for the comments which began this argument. The fellow is obviously just a youngin, with much to learn. He had no business provoking (and clearly incensing) a Nation as powerful as Orange. After all, we are only a Territory, desperately trying to become a powerful Nation like yours.

I understand the concept of defeat against Cal (an inferior left coast team) is completely foreign to you, and I sympathize. Still, the treatment and lack of hospitality shown to droski has left much to be desired from the timeless adage of “southern hospitality.” I realize that by making such comments I open myself up to attack from the entire forum. I welcome these attacks.

If mean spirited personal attacks are the only way with which you can communicate, I understand. Still, to those willing to accept that you may fall to California, or at least be severally challenged by us, I salute you. Having an open mind to possible realities is what being a true fan is all about. Shutting down any discussion of a possible defeat is childish and very democratic, as in the Democratic Party. I thought you guys were predominantly Republican? :shades:

September 1 is just over 6 months away. I, for one, am going to wait until about August 31 before I'm confident enough to give a prediction one way or the other.

There is simply too much that can happen between now and game day. Spring practice has yet to begin. New recruits are still in High School. The moon is still in orbit and Hell isn't frozen over (ok, it might be frozen over, global warming be damned).

When it comes to football, southern hospitality takes a back seat. If you're a stranger and want to be treated nice here, show up wearing orange.

You've never heard of the "Southern Block"? While some of us are Republicans, the South has historically (until fairly recently) been a Democratic stronghold. While mean spirited personal attacks aren't the only means with which we communicate, they do tend to make good message board entertainment.

Droski's a good guy.

I visit the scout Cal board everyday, and they are just as "bad" as some of the people over here. A lot of your fans have an idea that because you're from Tennessee, you can't have an education, you have to have sex with your family, and you can't comprehend anything that Cal fans can.

LynchEmAll is the worst.

Visitors who come to the door respectfully knocking, rather than trying to kick the door in , get Southern Hospitality, the ones who don't get a boot in the crack of their backside:hi:

I look forward to playin the Bears first game. They are a scary team and are looking to revenge the loss so I expect a battle. I have no reason not to respect the Bears, I just hope we can come away with a win.

:eek:lol: I should also add you go to Cal because the other schools I have listed have already turned you down and or thrown your application in the garbage.:)

You are showing massive ignorance. After stanford and Caltech, Cal is the hardest school in the state to get into. You think SC is better? UCLA? Congrats on being #1 in tenn. There are 20 schools in california with better reputations than UT. And you still haven't listed these "beter schools."

Did we send out a classified asking for a Bay Area perspective on academia? I didn't think so. Now, go back to bowing at the altar of Tedford and watching Ben Braun's team collapse into irrelevance.

Either I respond to all comers or I don't. I never brought up academics. And you will never get me to defend ben braun.
