Any Vols Coming out to California for the Cal Game?

The first sign of a sham program, blaming "looking ahead" and officiating for losing to a 6-6 team. If memory serves me correct, your game against us was also over by the first half.

i guess you guys have never looked past an opponent. Air force is really only 2 points worst than you right?

I think you misinterpreted what I mean. I've seen a handful of Cal fans predicting a Cal blowout, which is the least likely outcome. From most likely to least likely:

1. UT in a TD or less win
2. UT win by more than a TD

3. Cal in a TD or less win

4. Cal in a blowout
I did. In scanning quickly, I mistook "your" for "our." My apologies.

And Lynch and Forsett being manhandled... until the 2nd team came in

lynch averaged 5 yards a carry in the first half. the o-line lost 3 players to the NFL last season (2 guys currently starting in the NFL). Our run blocking stunk for the first half of the year. We have 2 first team all pac-10 olineman returning, as well as 2 guys that saw a lot of playing time last year, so that shouldn't be an issue this year. You also lose that monster at Dline right?

Tennesee's game against Air Force goes in the W column. Cal takes the big L against Arizona. In case you guys didn't get the news out in the Bay Area, "You play to win the game."

s happens. Your air force win was at home right? Our loss was on the road. One of 5 things goes our way and we win that game. Did you actually see the game or are you just flaming?

Droski, I like you, but you're the opposition, so I have to say this: you could easily cut these long excuses out by saying Tennessee 2006 was a better football team than Cal 2006. It's easier on your fingers. :)

Real programs don't make excuses for losses like that. It makes it even more pathetic. I was actually sitting in Norman watching the OU -Texas Tech game that night. I spent the entire first half laughing every time they posted the Cal-'Zona score. I spent all of last offseason trying to tell everyone what a joke Cal's program is. I was, of course, proven correct. Looks like I'll have to do it again.

Let me ask you a question. Outside of the SEC, what programs aren't a joke according to you? edit: and that joke program finished the season ranked higher than Tenn.

The AP voters said differently. I don't think it was conclusive that tenn was the better team after the bowl game. Take the season as a whole, and yes I would agree that tenn was better.

LOL, Doctor- How did you get carpal tunnel Droski? Droski-I was explaining our losses!

There are probably 30 programs outside the SEC I have great respect for. Cal certainly isn't one of them.

OOH, I'm impressed. Put Florida, LSU, and Arkansas on your schedule and see where you finish.

While you're at it, add Georgia and South Carolina. I would love for UT to play a schedule where Oregon or UCLA is the second toughest game.

so you think Oregon is better than tenn? Or are you saying you are better than USC?

No, I'm simply looking at the schedule you play in an average year. After we're done annihilating you this year, I'm Tedford, et al will ensure your nonconference schedule gets scaled back, thus making the PAC 10 tilts your only games of consequence.

so what exactly does Cal have to do to get your respect? If we beat you next year, that means you suck right? Do we have to win the national championship? No one has ever claimed we were national contenders every year. Last year only corso picked us to win the NC, and he is hardly the average commentator. So what was a proper ranking for us last year? Outside of the top 30? You did say there were 30 programs you respected more than Cal right?

Put about two decades of quality football together. Last year, Cal was in the 20-25 range. Historically, they're in the 50-75 range.

So who should have been ranked ahead of us:

1. Florida (64) 13-1 1,624
2. Ohio State 12-1 1,492
3. LSU 11-2 1,452
4. USC 11-2 1,389
5. Boise State (1) 13-0 1,383
6. Louisville 12-1 1,338
7. Wisconsin 12-1 1,288
8. Michigan 11-2 1,145
9. Auburn 11-2 1,112
10. West Virginia 11-2 1,035
11. Oklahoma 11-3 933
12. Rutgers 11-2 884
13. Texas 10-3 772
14. California 10-3 697
15. Arkansas 10-4 677
16. Brigham Young 11-2 673
17. Notre Dame 10-3 553
18. Wake Forest 11-3 551
19. Virginia Tech 10-3 407
20. Boston College 10-3 353
21. Oregon State 10-4 291
22. TCU 11-2 279
23. Georgia 9-4 204
24. Penn State 9-4 183
25. Tennessee 9-4 181

I'll give you Arky and Tenn. Georgia? BYU? ND? Wake? BC? OSU (who we beat by 5 tds)? All these teams are better than Cal?

I see so teams like oklahoma that were in the toilet before their current coaches got there are real programs because they won before that? It's impossible to be lousy and then good 5 years later? How many teams have won the national championship with in 4 years of a 3-8 season? Quite a few I would say.
