Any Vols Coming out to California for the Cal Game?

It should be but no one in the Pac-9 can accomplish it. Wonder why that is?

UK will win a fball NC before Cal.

OSU was an overtime game away from going to the NC game in 2001. ASU was one play away from winning the NC in 1997 (lost to tOSU in the final play of the rose bowl). UCLA was a hurricane away from going to the nc game in 1998?. Cal was 7 yards away in 2004 from having a decent shot of getting into the NC game. Winning a NC isn't easy, but it's not impossible.

EDIT: Ah, you silly Bear. You meant the 2006 season! Thus, you need to say, ASU was one play from winning the 1996 NC.

More in game checkpoint analysis. By the woulda, coulda, shoulda standard, Cal is a phenomenal program and the PAC-10 unparalleled.

ASU was nowhere near a national title in 1997.
yeah, i don't know that had they won, that it would have taken anything away from what Nebraska and Michigan did that year.....nice year, but not NC worthy.

wish in one hand and crap in the other, and see which one fills up faster i always say....

tOSU and ASU were the only two undefeated teams in the country (in the 1996-1997 season). tOSU won in the last seconds of the game. There is ZERO question they would have won the title if they beat tOSU.

they were ranked #1 and #2 in the country going into the game.

Yes I'll be comming, staying in the Cliffs Hotel on Garey St, checking in thur nite, going over to the game by private car just to walk thru Frat Row with the best looking woman that anyone there has ever seen and wearing all orange, I will watch the Vols again stomp the U of C Bearsy-werzys then go laugh at your ineptitude all over your campus, then back to the Hotel for some fine food and send my woman home, then I think I'll have a go at your cheerleaders, they don't see many real men out there, do they? Then home to the "greenest state in the land of the free", with another job well done over the 2nd teir of one of the weakest conferences in the country.

1996 season.

FSU 1
ASU 2
UF 3
OSU 4

FSU lost so an ASU win would have meant they win the national title.

UF won the title.
