Anyone play guitar?

I'll call these cats underrated, only because most people probably have not heard of them.

Mayer's ethnic music skit was on Chappelle Show last weekend. Comedy gold. Dave did more for racial harmony than Sharpton, Jackson, and all the baiters combined. DC probably makes Liberal's heads explode.

He can play. He did a show with Brad Paisely and really showed what he’s capable of. But to me he’s almost like a session guy with tons of ability and nothing that really stands out like an Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Page, etc. where you know who it is immediately after the first note.

It's not as easy anymore to identify players with all of today's available signal processing. Gilmour's tone and SRV's pace are still fairly identifiable even with all of the style clones out there.

What is the consensus thoughts on Tim Reynolds ? Is he a talented artist or poser since he hasn't been associated with his own band or own style of music. He's very computerized with looping his sounds, but once he gets into actually picking he has some skill.

Also, I always thought Roger Fisher from heart is underrated. Intro to crazy on you was always awesome to me. The man could play.

Edit: Nancy Wilson had a hand in Crazy on You also.

I thought that the intro to Crazy on You was Nancy Wilson's work.

I could be wrong. I think I may be. I'll double check

Edit: so, it looks like Nancy was in the band at this time and Roger was also. I read a thing on song facts that credited Roger Fisher with helping write the music, but the intro was inspired by a moody blues song called "question" and done by Nancy.

She came into the band after Roger left from what I understand. I you tubed and watched Heart signing crazy on you with Roger playing the song and no Nancy playing rhythm

You might be mixing up songs. The acoustic intro to Crazy on You is Nancy. She's co-author with just her sister. Fisher played the electric lead.

Yep, your right. I edited my last post. Roger helped with the music but Nancy was the acoustic player and originator

He's no poser. I thought he had cited personal/family reasons for not touring much early in the DMB run. I absolutely love his acoustic sets and solo albums with Dave.

This. Live a butler college is an amazing album. Most hot chicks i have ever seen in one place...by several orders of magnitude... a Dave Matthews concert. Oh. My. Damn.

"Butler College" would be in my personal top-5. It's just beautiful, and it takes me back to a really fun time in life.
