Anyone play guitar?

Page IMO is great as a folk/classical/acoustic player. His electric sound is his own. His greatest skill was possibly as a producer-arranger and a writer.

Page is my GOAT in the rock-related arena.

Fantastic arranger/creator of rhythms and highly skilled (though not the best) soloist.

He's the complete package.

This song has much of his genius on display.

Didn't see Steve Howe on the list (might have missed it). A frequent winner of guitarist of the year.

John Mclaughlin belongs in the virtuoso category

Underrated/unknown - Phil Keaggy

Fusion - John Goodsall (Brand X)

Rick Nielsen of CheapTrick

How could I forget Robert Fripp and Adrian Belew

here they are together along with Tony Levin on bass (looks like G Gordon Liddy)

Best on-line (YouTube) guitar instructor: Marty Schwartz (Marty Music and Guitar Jamz)

He has hundreds of free lessons from beginner to advanced. Great way to learn how to play.

Thoughts on John Mayer as a guitarist? Imo, the dude can play.

He is pretty good. I saw his blues trio open for Phil Lesh 12 or 13 years ago and was surprised by how much I enjoyed the set.

Wouldn't mind having his ex girlfriend list.

Most unusual collaboration: George Harrison on Cheech and Chong's Basketball Jones

BTW, also Carol King, Billy Preston, Michelle Phillips and others.

I'd say Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood are both underrated since they aren't know for soloing.

I think that Ronnie is a far better player. But Keith owns the brand. Keith has a handful of iconic licks that he created (borrowed from the old blues players). Satisfaction is right up there with Smoke on the Water as far as most famous riffs. Gimme Shelter might be the greatest Rock tune ever written.
