I love how the dude from south bend is just completely unwavered that Alabama is not only better than Tennessee but is a top 5 team.

If we are taking a L it’s better to take it now than closer to end of season. If we take care of business we will be fineWin out and have 2 wins over Top 10 teams.
GA wins out and goes to the SECCG vs LSU.
GA wins that and goes to playoff.
OSU and Michigan will play each other, but neither has the resume that UT does.
GA, TCU (possibly), winner of OSU-Michigan, and UT in the playoffs.
Reasonable?
Couldn't agree more. Even the biggest sunshine pumpers didn't envision a 11 win regular season. We are less than two seasons removed from complete rock bottom and Heup has us in the Top 5 in the country. He's the coach we've been waiting for HossStill have games to play and the season is far from over. No matter if UT is in the playoff or not, fans should still be very satisfied with how the team has progressed to this point.
You aren’t considering what happens in the SEC championship game. It doesn’t matter if TN wins out and that’s it. TN has to win out and GA has to win. If GA loses, they are 12-1 and we are 11-1 with a WIN over usWe don't have to make it to Atlanta to make it to the playoff a**hole. A one loss SEC school has an extremly high chance of making the playoff
If LSU wins they become the 4th seed as a (11-2) SEC Champ w/ wins over AL, GA , and Georgia gets the 3rd spot at runner up (12-1). How hard is this to get? TN didn’t beat GAExactly. No way a 2 loss LSU team gets in over a 1 loss Tennessee team that curb stomped them in their own house. Winning the SECT won’t change that.
Yeah, I get that, I was thinking from the Tennessee perspective. If you pretend we’re the #1 team in the country based on talent, we could still easily lose to #2 UGA on the road and then be robbed of a playoff for losing one game on the road to the second best team with that system, which is unfair compared to all the other teams who got to play them at home that year. In the NFL, they have home and away for the regular season to make the division winner arrangement more fair.
Oregon and TCU will both find a way to lose a game before season ends. It's in their nature. The nightmare scenario for UT is if Michigan beats OSU, LSU beats UGA in Atlanta(not likely) and TCU wins out. Right now all we can do is win out convincingly and root for teams like Pitt, Florida and Kentucky to finish strong. We need LSU to win out and lose to UGA. The better teams on our schedule finish out the year the more it helps us we need Bama to win out also.Very possibly could be Georgia, Ohio state, TCU, and Oregon. (Oregon although not a better resume but they respect power 5 champs.)
Recency bias, our loss is new. But we will be ahead of them in the rankings that count Tuesday. The fact we lost by 14 is not helpful though.Still don't understand why it was fair to keep 1 loss Alabama ahead of TCU but can't keep 1 loss Tennessee ahead of them.
I'll be rooting for two UT's this weekend it looks like.
