Apparently Saban and Jones after Tee

Great recruiter and was the position coach of Randall Cobb as well as the passing game coordinator at Kentucky and coached the Biletnikoff winner this year. He's a true rising star in the coaching ranks.

If Jones can get Tee back here I think a lot more of the fans would get onboard.

Wow.. were recruiting Tee Martin again. Maybe with a little luck the end results will be similar to the last time :)

I'm gonna get lit up for this, but I'd rather Tee not come here and stay out west. If he doesn't pan out here, the fan base will light him up. He should never be scrutinized by our fan base. I don't wanna hear our fans complain if he left for a better job, i.e. offensive coordinator or head coach. You all would start to hate him. It's disappointing.

Edit: I do want him here though, and I think he would be a great hire.

"Last time" the opposition at the end was Auburn...

We need T Martin as a recruiting coord. more than a coach really. An outstanding recruiter that also knows the game and can help coach at any position.

Tee Martin & Jay Graham would have a lot to sell to kids concerning UT. telling kids why they came, what the experience gave to them, the history of winning, and how the kids could bring glory back to UT are selling points

You get the total package with Tee - Vol grad, title ring, coaches up his players, great recruiter, classy guy with a great reputation in the business. Very rarely do you find guys like this in the business.

It'd be a good move by Jones to get Martin. Not only is he a great recruiter but he's got Tennessee ties (if you can just call them ties). I think he'd do wonders on the recruiting trail for us.

...and don't forget NFL cred. Even if it was just as a clipboard holder for the Steelers, he was in the league for a few years.

Tee actually lasted a lot longer than Ainge or Clausen in the NFL, and did see some meaningful PT for the Raiders one year. Also won the Championship in the NFL Europe.

The guy wins wherever he goes. Maybe wasn't the most accurate passer (which he made up for with his 4.5 40 yd dash and rushing ability), but he was one of those QBs that everyone in the huddle would lay down and die for.

I wish I could argue with you about that, but I tend to agree....

Except for the 23 out of 24 against USCe in 1998.... I had to listen to that game on the Radio, but it still LOOKED great.

Tee and Jay Graham on the same coaching staff? Yeah I'd be totally for it and if he can bring Ramsey with him along with some skilled WRs then it would be worth it.

Some of the ESPN writers have posted their bowl projections. I don't put much stock into what those guys say, but if anyone is curious.....

Bowl Projections

To me this would kinda be like cinci players were to Jones. He is part of the family and if he could get an OC or even better a head coaching job then you have to be happy for him not hate him. What would make people mad I think is If he came and in two years made a lateral move to bama or Florida. That would enrage the fan base but not a move up!

Ya know, wearing orange pants on Saturday is cute and all that, but nothing says "I respect and honor Tennessee tradition" like busting your a$$ and acquiring Tee Martin for your coaching staff. Not really seeing any downside here, the guy's a rising star.
