Apparently Saban and Jones after Tee

I wish I could argue with you about that, but I tend to agree....

Except for the 23 out of 24 against USCe in 1998.... I had to listen to that game on the Radio, but it still LOOKED great.

I think he was a lot more accurate than some give him credit for. The passing game under Sanders his first year as OC was a cluster--ck. We had no legit deep threat (Leonard Scott doesn't count), and WRs who would end up being "big time" hadn't matured yet (Stallworth hadn't learned to run a correct route at that point). Eric Parker was a pretty good NFL reciever, but he hadn't become a reliable contributor, and Cedric Wilson was not a number 1 receiver. David Martin was a TE playing WR.

Had Fulmer redshirted Peerless his freshman year (he only had 7 receptions), we would've played for another NC.

If he gets rid of Graham bringing Tee here still has Butch in the dog house, IMO. You keep Graham AND bring Tee. You don't get rid of a VFL who has absolutely improved the team unit he is responsible for (running backs)

AS bad as the university treated T Martin do you guys think he would come back. At one point he wasn't allowed on the sideline at games. Has this issue been fixed and relationship mended. Just curious

What are you talking about? I have heard nothing about this.

If Tee Martin turns down the chance to come back to UT, it'll say a lot about what other coaches think of Butch Jones.

Tee and Graham will help Jones with being more quickly accepted by the fanbase. It would be a great step for him.

All the crap about the payment thing from Alabama childhood friend.

I haven't heard anything about it in ages, and almost forgot.

He also was drafted above Tom Brady....That happened.

Tee actually lasted a lot longer than Ainge or Clausen in the NFL, and did see some meaningful PT for the Raiders one year. Also won the Championship in the NFL Europe.

The guy wins wherever he goes. Maybe wasn't the most accurate passer (which he made up for with his 4.5 40 yd dash and rushing ability), but he was one of those QBs that everyone in the huddle would lay down and die for.

Having proven UT alums on the staff will help recruiting and may give the fan base a little more confidence.
There are none better than the ones that have worn the colors to instill Tennessee pride and tradition in our players! Make Tee an offer he can't refuse ! :eek:k:

I'm gonna get lit up for this, but I'd rather Tee not come here and stay out west. If he doesn't pan out here, the fan base will light him up. He should never be scrutinized by our fan base. I don't wanna hear our fans complain if he left for a better job, i.e. offensive coordinator or head coach. You all would start to hate him. It's disappointing.

Edit: I do want him here though, and I think he would be a great hire.[/QU Im in complete agreement!

Tee would be great---Saban wanting him is very peculiar and obviously makes me wonder about Tee's development as a coach (obviously he's an up and coming talent).

Is tee a good recruiter or something? Why is he such a hot commodity?

Because he is a great up coming coach. Thats why USC wanted him and that with his orange blood is why we want and need him. That hire would be an intelligent hire and help reunite Vols

I agree but that was during the time he was being investigated. I didnt agree with how he was treated but he is a VFL and glad it all got fixed.

Would Tee ever actually pick Alabama or Tennessee?

Just seems really wrong if he did.

UK is one thing. Alabama is another.

It's not about loyalty or whatever. Being on Butch Jones' staff is much more of a dead-end job than being on the staff of a national champion.

It depends on if he wants to be part of our rebound back to glory or takes the easy road to a already built Bama.

While the fans on VN seem to be 100% sure that Jones will bring us back to glory, coaches are much more realistic. If Jones is only slightly better than Dooley and we're going 7-5 all the time, Martin's coaching career won't take off nearly as quickly as it would winning NCs with Saban.

Tee went out West so his wife could pursue her musical career in LA. Unless she has given up her dream it is unlikely they would come back to Knoxville just yet.
