My thoughts…Wyatt has probably received all his offers via call or in person. So he began dreaming about Tennessee making the call, being on the phone with CJH. He’s thinking and wishing for that for weeks when he receives the text. I imagine I could just see him staring at his phone like “What….?”
And it probably hurt a little bit. I think Moose exaggerated this a little so we were expecting to be much worse, so now we are confused due to the drama that was built, when in reality CJH will call him and it’ll be fine.
It’s a nothing burger he’s turned into a Whopper. It’s easier for him to trash our staff and act like we acted unprofessionally rather than just say what happened. The fact that he’s not saying what happened just further proves that it really wasn’t that big of a deal and was probably just a late eval and offer and the family felt disrespected, which okay fine feel that way but that is a very normal thing in recruiting. I refuse to believe this staff that’s entire thing is “culture” is out there treating kids poorly. Nothing we’ve seen the past 3 years would indicate they would ever do something like that so why start now?
Thanks! ^This! And thanks again!Makes it sound like they expected Heup to show up and fix them dinner before getting on one knee and declaring that the kid has an offer to play ball at UT and handing the family a big bag of NIL money. I wish him well but if there is this much drama already, maybe this isn't a good culture fit.
Word. This is what I consider "Much ado about nothing." This kid has never taken a visit. He's never had a single conversation with BJM, Mike Ekeler, or Tim Banks. He allegedly got a text from a defensive analyst on the staff and that's been the extent of communication. At this point, the "he's not coming here", statement isn't because UT dropped the ball. It's because he isn't a priority. From the admission of MPW about what the text said, this kid doesn't have an official offer. That's not a knock against Wyatt. There's a lot of really good LBs out there that don't have a UT offer. The problem is the perceived disrespect and resulting butthurt that has been portrayed in a couple of threads. Also the insinuation that the top brass somehow "dropped the ball" for a recruit that they highly value. There's a lot of exaggerated untruths to this whole deal from what I can surmise. The one definite truth that MPW has stated is the fact that this is not how recruiting is done. It appears this is because Wyatt isn't truly being recruited by UT at this point. Simmons should be honored that he has the legitimate offers that he does have and focus on those if he is indeed bothered by UT not having the same level of interest, but there isn't one single thing that our staff needs to apologize for.
probably not, either way. we are set at LB.So a recruiting analyst (assuming the guy he tagged in his post) texted the kid that he had an offer which was the very first contact by TN.
So does he is fact have an offer from TN or did the recruiting analyst jump the gun?
Was the offer a PWO?
Am I missing something?
