And they are correct and that makes me smile! Unless they are talking UT vs. OSU, I'm very very happy with the results. A great start to a new year!Well, the SEC was a complete bust in the playoffs. BIG 10 fans will have a field day feasting on our bones. It certainly doesn't help to claim that Texas is SEC given that they just joined this year...and from the BIG 12, no less! And they dominated the SEC.
or that had the same record as us that a played a more difficult schedule.
The SEC is never not gonna be considered the elite conference. We send way too many players to the NFL draft and we always recruit better than anyone else.
The media are not getting into it . They are the cause of it . They have been trying for years to bring down the SEC. Through the portal and the playoff they have done it . That was the only way to stop the dominance. Strip us of all the talent just for a couple years before they themselves get tired of paying the price for players . Then bring in a puppet that makes the SEC fan base think they have someone at the top looking out for them to be over the new college football..Muddy the water so to speak with adding to many playoff teams . Meanwhile in a collective unified way smear the SEC from year to year . Then bring in a puppet that makes the SEC fan base think they have someone at the top looking out for them to be over the new college football..Add to this our own SEC Leaders selling us out while filing their own pockets ..That's exactly what they're doing. Especially after Ohio State waxed us. All the Michigan guys on social media like Dave Pornoy were having the most fun trashing the entire SEC. You even had some respected college football media heads saying the SEC was overrated and didn't deserve to have teams in the playoffs. Others were saying Michigan would have won the SEC this year given how they beat Ohio State while we got waxed by them.
You're obviously not paying attention to the talk around modern college football if you dont know how tribal this sport has become. Everyone is now all in on my conference is better than your conference talk. And not just fans. Even the mediao vote on the AP poll are getting into it.
But why was our schedule difficult? Was it because we played some killer out of conference schedule? No. It's because we play in the SEC where the perception is there are a lot of really good teams. In fact it was that one win over Alabama that essentially carried us all year above teams like Indiana who went 11-1 and Miami who was 10-2 like us. Remember Miami dominated the same Florida team in Gainesville that we struggled with at home. Yet they were the second team out at 10-2 while we were firmly in and ahead of a couple of 11-1 teams.
If Alabama is no longer considered an impressive win and if the SEC is no longer considered the best conference then guess what that strength of schedule you are touting as being the reason we made the playoffs dissappears and we become no different than Miami. Hope you enjoy us getting left out of the playoffs for teams in the Big 10 with similar records because we play in a weak conference while they play in the best conference in the country.
Oh and FTR recruiting is now all about money. It's how we landed Nico in 2023 with little track record of success and how we landed David Sanders this past cycle over Ohio State. The days where winning correlated directly with recruiting are over. Now it's about whose willing to pay the most. So no Texas or Georgia winning wouldn't hurt us in recruiting. What will hurt us in recruiting is if teams like Michigan and Oregon decide to outspend everyone because they have billionaires like Larry Ellison and Phil Knight bankrolling their NIL.
Unfortunately people are prisoners of the moment. So all they're gonna remember for the next 11 months until next postseason is how badly the SEC performed and will hold that against us until the next playoffs. That the nature of this era of sports media. I'm not even trying to pay attention to noise but it's filled up my news feed. Guys like Joel Klatt are literally doing victory laps after every SEC loss saying we're no longer the best.
This is the unfortunate reality of sports talk in 2025. People are just into momentary hot takes.
No. I just watch the games because the strategy and athleticism is interesting. And why would they not matter? The past success of the SEC and teams like Alabama plays a huge part in the playoff discussion every year. Why else do you think there was legitimate debate about letting a 9-3 Alabama into the playoffs ahead of a 11-2 SMU this year? Or last year when 1-loss Alabama got in over undefeated Florida State?
What's happening this postseason will have a huge impact on how the playoffs debates go next year. If the SEC continues to get waxed by the Big 10, we will no longer get the benefit of the doubt about playing a grueling schedule. Think about it this way. As a 2-loss SEC team we were ranked ahead of a 1-loss Indiana. A major reason for that was because of the perception that the SEC schedule is tougher than other conference schedules. If the perception that our conference schedule is strong is gone then why would a 2-loss Tennessee be ahead of a 1-loss team from another conference? Next year you'll see 2-loss Big 10 teams being ranked ahead of 1-loss SEC teams because the perception will be that their conference is tougher.
and Notre Damn...Weird how people just forget.. Did we ever find out what went on under Franklin at Vandy? The Vanderbilts ,the Pope and Joe PA walk into a bar. Be a beautiful script for Notre Damn to win it all after the rebuild of that greaaaaat Cathedral..I’ll take a stab at translation - Any post season game in which PSU is participating.
I believe he is implying ND supporta pedo priests as well
The Catholic Church’s issues with pedophile priests is separate from the university. Notre Dame had a sex scandal involving a female academic coach coercing student athletes to have sex with her daughter in exchange for academic favors.and Notre Damn...Weird how people just forget.. Who cares? At least we've all got our tails between our legs. Texas is gonna get blown out by Ohio State and the league will be done for the year. They aren't championship caliber this year.Well, the SEC was a complete bust in the playoffs. BIG 10 fans will have a field day feasting on our bones. It certainly doesn't help to claim that Texas is SEC given that they just joined this year...and from the BIG 12, no less! And they dominated the SEC.
From my research its a government, not a church .The issue with the Roman church was and is the ban on married priests. Lose that and you don't become a haven for repressed sexual deviants.
The Big 10 being stronger at the top has no bearing on how the leagues are perceived. The more the mid-tier teams win, the better it is for the conference. This year everyone is losing except for a few so that hurts. Nobody was proclaiming the death of the SEC the year that Clemson absolutely crushed Bama in the playoffs. A total of 4 schools have won a national championship that weren't from the SEC over the last 20 years. This is the first time since 2018 a non-SEC team is likely going to win it. One down year isn't going to change that, despite whatever random Big 10 favoring journalists write.Unfortunately people are prisoners of the moment. So all they're gonna remember for the next 11 months until next postseason is how badly the SEC performed and will hold that against us until the next playoffs. The church was meant to govern the people of God in the NT. It's all over the place in there. The free for all we have now w/o church discipline is plainly unbiblical. The abuses of Catholicism don't change that. From my research its a government, not a church .
But i will stop .Dont wanna make people mad ...
Back to fandom, who yall think wins ?
To me this is a hard one to pick .
