That was a long time ago. Before all this conference talk. Have you not been looking at social media at all this bowl season? After every game people are making widespread declarations about every team and conference. And before you say it's just fans doing it. I've seen countless major college football media doing it. Guys who vote every year on the AP.

You can bury your head in the sand all you want but before Ohio State pummeled Oregon the perception was we didn't deserve to be in the playoffs and that Michigan would've won the SEC. That's the world we live in now whether you like it or not. We either rise with the rest of the SEC or sink with them based on how perception fuels the sport of college football.

Even if that meant Tennessee suffers and loses as well? You're willing to cut your nose to spite your face?

I'm not rooting for Georgia cause I want them to win. I'm rooting for them cause I know the lack of the SEC as a whole will hurt Tennessee when it comes to the nature of college football as a sport where perception of how tough a schedule you play matters greatly in how you're viewed when comes to making the playoffs. If college football was like the NFL and all that mattered was where you were seeded in your conference then I would agree with you. But that's not the world we live. We made the playoffs this year as the 3rd best SEC team. That only happened because of how the SEC is perceived compared to other conferences. If the SEC was viewed like the Big 12 or ACC then we would have needed to win the conference or make the championship game to have a chance in the playoffs. That's the risk you run when the rest of your conference is perceived as weak. It gives you less margin for error.

But go ahead and keep acting like a emotional woman instead of using logic and reason.

That's exactly what they're doing. Especially after Ohio State waxed us. All the Michigan guys on social media like Dave Pornoy were having the most fun trashing the entire SEC. You even had some respected college football media heads saying the SEC was overrated and didn't deserve to have teams in the playoffs. Others were saying Michigan would have won the SEC this year given how they beat Ohio State while we got waxed by them.

You're obviously not paying attention to the talk around modern college football if you dont know how tribal this sport has become. Everyone is now all in on my conference is better than your conference talk. And not just fans. Even the media who vote on the AP poll are getting into it.

The SEC is a corrupt collective. Saying that the fsu situation was in the past is a non sequitur.

None of the affects TN in the slightest. And no we didn't make the playoffs because of how the SEC is perceived. There is no one left out that had a better record or that had the same record as us that a played a more difficult schedule.

UGA or TX winning is immeasurably worse for us in recruiting. That's simply a fact.

The SEC is never not gonna be considered the elite conference. We send way too many players to the NFL draft and we always recruit better than anyone else.

Well, the SEC was a complete bust in the playoffs. BIG 10 fans will have a field day feasting on our bones. It certainly doesn't help to claim that Texas is SEC given that they just joined this year...and from the BIG 12, no less! And they dominated the SEC.

The SEC has embarrassed themselves.
It seems to me every team in the SEC has cared less about the playoffs or bowl games with the exception of Fl and Vandy. Go figure!!

They may win the NC but didn’t win the SEC. So we can at least say that .

That's the consequence of wanting other SEC teams to lose in games against other conferences. It'll eventually hurt Tennessee.

Again I could give a $h!t about Ga, Texas, etc… it does not help UT in any way shape or fashion if those teams win it only hurts us!

PSU . Hell of a running tandom with Singleton and Allen . But ND will be the first real team they have faced in playoff. SMU and Boise State were talent deficient on the lines.

I’m looking forward to the post mortem of this CFP in the offseason. Say whatever you want about the SEC but every team that played a home game won. Every seeded team with a bye and a month off lost to a team that played last week. Maybe that’s a fluke, maybe not.

They made Oregon look worse . Texas will be their next victim. Can’t cover #4 Smith , could be playing in the NFL right now. One of those great players that you need to win it all.
