With that as context, it is notable that then-Vice President Al Gore presided over the Senate certification of his own defeat on January 6, 2001.Apples and Oranges, in 2000 the issue was whether a paper ballot was properly mark to determine that vote. Even further, Trump has publicly chastised Pence for "not having the courage to do the right thing" on January 6th, and refuse to count electoral votes from some electors, who had been lawfully chosen, just because of some frivolous pending litigation by the likes of nutjob Sidney Powell.
