'25 Arizona Transfer IOL Wendell Moe (Tennessee)

A little mixed internally but on how hard to push here. Experienced and mean as a player but a bit more limited than we thought coming in.
Can you say any more on Moe’s limitations? Just not as agile or fast as initially thought? Some other problems?

What limits any guard to a specific side?
Maybe a preference he talked about. Comfortability on one versus the other. They maybe lobbed playing center or tackle at him and he shot it down. Probably gave him the whole we want to move you around and try you out and he wasn’t receptive to that.

I’m guessing we like versatility to be able to move them around on the line and Moe is limited to guard on one side of the line
we also like to pull our linemen. including the guards. you need some athletic ability to move 300+ frames like that and be able to block SEC players reliably when doing so. seems like a guy who plays both OG and OT would fit that pretty well.

Wonder if we'll still push for Thompson if we land Moe. Would either mean Karic a) isn't likely to win the appeal (doubtful to be the case, IMO), b) wins the appeal and is willing to try out for his spot against 2 portal OL, or c) wins the appeal and hits the portal himself.
JMO, this might be our only OL transfer. I think staff will let RT spot be battled out by in house guys (Perry/sanders/Warren).

I like that. We need to start seeing some of the guys we recruited out of HS on the o-line. I kind of wonder if they've been hesitant to play the young guys like they were hesitant to play the young DBs for so long...valuing experience over talent. Hopefully that's the case and guys like Satterwhite, Sham, Perry, Warren, and Sanders all step up and give us the same kind of great depth we have on the d-line.

Usually arm length and lateral foot movement
Please expand. Does a LG need longer arms than a RG, if so why? Same with lateral movement? Not trying to be a jack wagon, just trying to understand why a guard is any different depending on which side of the center he lines C up on.
