What are you talking about? Did I miss something? Arkansas is 4-7 right now, Tennessee is 4-7 right now. The returning roster on Tennessee is way better than Arkansas.

LOL, another fool...

As a vol fan, I will be glad when we can stop clinging on to our "recruiting ranking" for some type of reassurance that we are still respected or relevant. Call me crazy, Call me stupid but I for one prefer to talk about what our final end of the season ranking is, amd to be proud of it.

Pretty sure Arky would laugh at us if we offered to trade them our 2010 and 2011 Rivals recruiting ranking for their 2010 and 2011 final season ranking.

i agree with you it probably is. Was speaking about what has happened to us in the last 5 years compared to them in the last five years.

What most would consider lately, or relevant.

I've never seen a "Tennessee" fan defend another school's program like such a homer. Getting upset as if you were an actual Arky fan. Actually funny

That's because Arkansas has so little of a past history they have to spin their average football program with that line of thinking.

It means kids look at our program much better, we have history, tradition, championships... Arkansas has a few semi-successful years. Basically, a coach would rather be here by a long shot, and I just don't see Gruden going to Arkansas, not that he is coming here, but Arkansas's successful class is graduating this year, cupboard is bare, and it would take atleast 2-3 good recruiting classes to be in contention.

Do a little homework before you spew dumb statements..

Petrino was not considered a great recruiter, however he did have a top 20 class.

In 2009 his class was ranked #16 by Rivals.

Recruiting rankings mean nothing. If they did, we wouldnt even need to play the games. The AP and the BCS dont hand out rings based on how some guys at Rivals think you did in recruiting.

Petrino proved that you can be a top 5 team without top 5, top 10 or even top 20 talent as defined by Rivals.

How well has all of the high ranked classes we have had in the last 5 years or so worked out for us?

I mean heck in 2009 Lane recruited the #1 kid in the nation for god sake. I fully expect his jersey to be retired at UT and his name put up beside Peyton's in the ring of honor. I mean he was the #1 recruit in the country. I think next year Bryce will lead us to a National Championship.

I understand their inferiority complex. They are in a conference where they cannot win a championship. Tulane 4 SEC championships, Arky...none. I mean Tulane was better in the SEC than Arky. I think Arky, SC and Vandy are the only teams without a SEC championship. Naturally they are buttsore over it.

They came from a vastly inferior conference with stars in their eyes but have never really done anything other than BECOME a mediocre program. Only bc if they stayed as bad as they were, they would be a perennial bottom dweller.

Now, they are upset bc they tasted a little "success" by being the third best team in the SEC West last year and they realize they are in free fall back to the bottom.

a few reasons...

1) went there last November and was really impressed because prior to that I assumed Fayetteville was like Starkville. I was extremely wrong.

2) when I started voicing my desire for Petrino, I looked into what happened at Arkansas before he got there and what happend during his four years. I am very familiar with Arky as a result.

3) I just dont like inaccurate statements even when I would prefer them to be true.

Arky is obviously not a SEC power bc real SEC power schools...Bamma, UT, UF...don't brag about being the third best team in their division.

I agree with you in that Arky will not land Gruden or other high profile coach. They will be left to hire a mid-major coach or coordinator and try to catch lighting in a bottle.

Why, Arky just doesn't have much to offer like UT, Aub. They are more on par with UK. They have, what is commonly referred to as one of the ugliest campuses in the SEC. Their facilities are way behind. Granted they are trying to get caught up. While their fan base is loyal, ie tangerine, it is a small fan base which cannot generate a large revenue stream. They have no tradition of winning. They have never won in the SEC so it is difficult to recruit.

A handful of national championships.

Some of the best facilities in the country.

A stadium that holds 100,000.

Usually have one of the top recruiting budgets in the country.

If we're not a powerhouse than I guess Notre Dame and Michigan aren't either. Oh wait, look at what hiring a good coach can do to years of bad Football. Notre Dame is undefeated you putz.

Only thing I would change is 6 NC would take several hands to hold that tradition. Other than that Pig lover needs to know his role at this point and move on to another board.
