That is hard to watch. Even if it was just a normal play.

But my God.

Hurts to watch.

Gallaraga said that Joyce apologized and Gallaraga said he felt sorry for him and gave him a hug, that kid has acted like a class act...impressive.

I think I would have given him a three stooges poke to the eyeballs

I would have killed him. Armando was Cool Hand Luke.

Pitiful call, even if it wasnt a historical one. Plain blown. That ump is a hack and has no business at the MLB level.

At least he manned up and took the heat. At least it didn't affect the outcome of the game.

"I don't know what to do. I cost that kid a perfect game. Biggest call of my career and I kicked the **** out of it." - Jim Joyce
Talk about frank and honest.

Selig has to fix this. It was the 27th out, for chrissakes. Everyone knows it was an out. For Selig to rule that it was a perfect game costs absolutely nothing and makes everybody feel better. I will grant that the commissioner position hasn't really existed in 20 years, but if even the shell of the title means anything, then Selig has to make this right. It's not like it was a blown call in the top of the 8th. It was the last out. The game was over.

Sometimes, all we are known for is our worst moment. No one, notices all the good things we do. He just blew the damn call. What can you do?

"I don't know what to do."

You go on ESPN tomorrow morning and publicly call on the commissioner to overturn your blown call and give the kid his perfect game. At that point it's all on Selig. Just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it can't be done now; the guy is supposed to be the dictator of baseball. Even the NHL would get this right.

This is a travesty... hopefully the good that might come from it is the institution of instant replay for every game.

I was absolutely disgusted when I saw this live, and admire Gallaraga for keeping his cool like he did.

If they do bring in replay, please limit it to fair or foul, HRs and calls that impact the 3rd out of an inning . . . and give all the authority to a 5th umpire in a booth that only has 60 seconds to make a decision.

They should just leave it to the booth official to decide when it's necessary, like they do in the NHL.

I am not a fan of the replay in baseball. I understand that you want to get calls right, but it could get freakin ridiculous.
