So he had already performed the judge and jury deliberations and was just waiting on his example? Ok glad we agree it was excessive force. They were cornered. That officer probably had his mind made up for 10 minutes. If anyone comes in this room I have to shoot them. And it was 100% the right call. Too bad it was a nice Maga Lady and not a black guy, sure you wouldn't have a problem then.
I live in the world where LEO excessive force is answered for. Just like it was on George Floyd and they got that punishment right. Oh wait that’s a black dude and you said I can’t be consistent on my assessment of the two situations. Dangit. So you don't think by the time she is cuffed there is at least 5-10 rioters ambushing them? What world do you live in?
She was part of a violent mob attempting to get access to lawmakers in the capitol. I hope her family gets nothing. The fact she's some maga martyr is hilarious since you all like to claim the law and order high groundGeorge Floyd made a mistake and Breonna Taylor made a mistake and both of their families got paid millions.
Where’s the millions for Ashi Babbitt’s family?
LEO’s are held to that same law and order high ground. In fact they’re held to an even higher bar as we saw in those two cases offered up. Well, unless you’re giving Nancy a bad case of the vapors they’re held to that higher standard anyway. Or should be as in the case we’re conversing on.She was part of a violent mob attempting to get access to lawmakers in the capitol. I hope her family gets nothing. The fact she's some maga martyr is hilarious since you all like to claim the law and order high ground
Once she attempted to bypass the barricade to advance on lawmakers she sealed her fate. Up until that moment she was walking out unharmed
AMENThere are a couple of ways of looking at the locked doors. One is that congress has a place to conduct business without interference. The other is that congress is supposedly in session in a public building paid for and maintained by the taxpayer, and congress is supposedly there representing us and is supposedly answerable to us. I'd maintain that if they were doing the second part people wouldn't have been barging in to remind them why they are there in the first place. The Capitol isn't a palace, congress isn't royalty living there, and we aren't their subjects.
What was the appropriate response by the CP?
How long does an officer have to hold fire when a mob is breaking down the doors and windows and barriers to gain entry to an area you have been ordered to protect and have been issued a weapon in order to protect it with lethal force?Did she deserve to be executed based on her actions up to that point though? Look she was wrong for attempting to breach the barricade. But up until she was shot had she committed any threatening act that warranted a lethal force response?
If if if if if… not good enough. LEO’s are held to a higher standard for a reason. That video did not show her committing one threatening act. The LEO murdered her plain and simple.
That’s not an answer you’re just avoiding the question. Please point out to me in that video what threatening act she committed or what weapon she was brandishing that warranted a lethal force response.
She made a really stupid choice. It cost her her life.
The LEO absolutely over reacted and decided to execute her without witnessing a single threatening act.
Both were wrong. Babbitt bore the entire weight of both bad decisions and the LEO walked. That is entirely what is wrong with this whole situation in a nutshell.
I didn't avoid anything. The officer was watching a mob actively attempting to destroy the last obstacle between them and the people he was defending. They all start coming thru and he's done. The threatening act was her trying to lead an assault around the barricade onto his position. The constant "she was unarmed " is a worthless argument.
Had that been a white cop and she was a black perp, your story would change dramatically. You'd be questioning every move that had been made.
Of course you're going to deny it.
