I don't begin to believe that big donors were holding off, waiting for Kellie to leave. Talk about counter-intuitive! She played for Summitt,
won national titles. It beggars believe that the programs most ardent supporters would not support Harper--even if we've had a report or
two of certain donors not being happy with her PR skills. And I certainly didn't understand all the support for Caldwell keeping Williams given
the problems with our HS recruiting.

You can have your opinion. Didn’t say you couldn’t. My opinion is this program needs to move on from vestiges of the past. I don’t see why certain people are so attached to coaches just because they have been here for awhile.

This isn’t a 9-5 job where Janice from accounting can stick around for 20 years as long as she does an okay job. There are millions of dollars and championships on the line.

They'll be a change in 2 years if she missed the tournament. Why bite you nose off to spite your face? She could have keep 1 assistant for relationships, even if it's just 1 year. It's CKC show, I hope she knows EVERYBODY is watching . No Year 0 make the tournament and all is well for year 1, miss it first 2 years and back to mid-majirs, probably forever. All I'm saying is she made her 1sr year MUCH HARDER than it had to be, GLV!!

If if was me I would want my own. Heck your job is on the line and they where problems with last staff so can’t blame her might have carried over to her.

What relationships are you so worried about losing? Honestly. Tell me. I’m curious. What has been so impressive about the last 10-15 years of LV recruiting, particularly the last 5 years, that you think needs to be preserved?

Sometimes people get complacent. Let Caldwell bring in a new and energetic staff and see if it changes anything. It could not literally get any worse.

it could. we could stop getting good recruits out of the portal and have no high school recruiting and then actually SUCK.

Any HS girl we had one with from the '25 class and beyond. Energetic staffs don't mean SHAT until you win some games. In order to win games you need Elite players. To get elite players in the portal or HS you need prior relationships , imo.maybe coach Kin knows something g we don't, hope so.

I didn't realize that (our now assistant coach) Jenna Burdette was a 4-year starter at Dayton, including the Dayton team that made an Elite 8 run in 2014-15 and even led Breanna Stewart and UConn at halftime in the Elite 8 before falling (roster that included 2-year WNBA player Ally Mallott). Burdette also shot 45% from 3 here senior year on 2.2 makes per game...maybe she can transfer some of that shooting technique over to our players! 😅

Anyone who does not classify CKC as a "high risk-high reward" is self-deluding. There is a lot of uncertainty around the program even of the new coach can lob a baseball over home plate and does indeed look good in orange.

I think CKC can be a success if the 2024-25 season proves to be an above expectation coaching debut. I think keeping the NCAA streak alive is the bare minimum. Failing that, few recruits are going to be willing to bet on CKC. If she takes this line-up back to tournament and has a team which can be competitive with the upper tier of the SEC, then folks will go hey, this coach is legit and on the rise.

She could be a one and done or a long term legend. I don't think there will be much middle ground here.

I am probably more optimistic about the potential of the returning roster than most here (so long as Jewell is part of that team). CKC will still need some additional help at PG (which I think is mission critical) and another athletic guard who is a decent 3pt shot.

I’d side of the risk/reward. We were told it’s an NIL game now…she’s shown she can win which was what eluded the last staff. Get a few players that fit the system and it’ll be a nice transition. Next few weeks will be crucial for the short term and not the long term.

I think some people forget that you have to have connections to recruit and you can’t just call up a recruit and say “I’m from Tenn” to get them to come.
